Never thought bout rubber bands. I’ve been using latex gloves(yellow) or balloons(multiple colors). I also put a black bead for weight and as an”head”. Very durable.
That is a nice jig. I am one of those that pays the light bill for three fly shops. There is nothing much around where I live so I order online, and one of the three fly shops always has what I am after. I do not believe there is a creative bone in my body, so I stick to the recipe of the person doing the tying. Thanks for the video.
That is a nice-looking vise you have there. That Zonker doesn`t look bad either. It looks like another ten out of ten for you. Thanks for the great video.
Yeah, that caddis pattern looks almost good enough to eat, or at least that is what our government wants us to do. That would be a Bluegill killer, I can see the murderous intent in its beady little eyes. That pattern has promise so I think I `ll tie up a few and test them out. Thanks John, for going to the trouble and taking the time to make these great videos. Take care.
Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know I misspoke on this video when I said Northlake Tackle company it's actually Northland Tackle company. Sorry about the confusion. Thanks John
Hi there! I'm a new(er) tyer! Did you say .20 when you meant .020 lead free wire?! I have some of that. Also, what vise do you use?! I've been using this "starter kit" my parents bought me and I'd like to upgrade this vise as it's "dancing" around a bit on my desk! Thanks and be well!
I did misspeak its actually hare line .020 lead free wire good catch. The vise I'm currently using is the Tiemco tmc vise 2 .I have used lots of different vises when I first started too. My first vise was a Thompson AA vise. I still use it from time to time. Thanks for the comment.
@@Johnnapier-xc6dq Thanks for the information sir! I look forward to growing in this and learning as much as I can. Thanks again and have a great week!!
How are those LOON Tying Tools working out for you? I have thought about adding some to my collection of tying tools, but just haven`t pulled the trigger yet. I don`t know why I haven`t, I think it may be the ergonomic look of them. I just need a tiny little push to get me over the hump. That is why I am asking.
I really like the bobbin, although sometimes it's hard to thread. The stacker I don't use very much, it has a lid and it's a little fumble. Love all the scissors. dubbing brush is great. hair packer works well, but on large eyed hooks, it won't fit. The Dubbing loop tweezers work great on about anything.the Dubbing spinner is something I like as well. So to be honest, I'm not sure I would buy the whole kit again. Just a couple things from it. Thanks for the question. P.s this is just my opinion it might be the best you have ever used. Thanks again.
@@Johnnapier-xc6dq Sorry for not getting back sooner. I didn`t buy the LOON tools because I could not get passed that ergonomic look. I am old school, and it is just a personal preference. I have a hodge podge of tying tools and they serve me well. I am not a production tyer, but I do tie more than I will ever use. Mainly flies for Bluegill (certain trout flies), and jigs for Crappie and Bluegill. Really enjoy your channel, thanks for creating it.
That looks like a fat blow-fly maggot with a really bad hair day. You should name it the "Bad Mop Maggot" Fly. Really enjoy your videos. Thank you for going to the trouble of making them.
Looks like it would work great for ice fishing for yellow perch
I've never tried it for that, but it sounds like a good idea. I know it will work great on bluegill.
It was a stupid idea to release this Buzz, non a Bass...
Heck yeah! That’s a nice fish. Well done my friend. 😎👏🏼
💪🇺🇲
She looks pregnant.
Spawn belly fer sure!
Man, what a pickle! Glad to hear you two parted ways peacefully. Stuff like that keeps nature exciting tho!!!
You got that right!
Did you ever get it off?
Yes, I was able to get it to bite my anchor system rope and popped the hook right out. I have to put a pair of needle nose pliers in the kayak.
@@Johnnapier-xc6dq smart!
That's when really long needle nose pliers come in handy.
I'm definitely doing that. Good advice.

I bet that would be strong.

I know what you're saying ,especially with the price of material. Thanks for watching.
Thanks. Great fishing.

all that thread will brake if you add a lot of pressure. If you want a thread that won't brake under pressure use 6.0 nano or kevlar threads.
Thanks, I'll check it out.
Nice fly, tie and commentary. Gonna give it a whirl. Thanks!
Looks like bream is on the menu.
I have searched Ebay for the comb/brush you use. Cannot find one like it. Please tell me where you get one like it.
I'm a little embarrassed to say that my wife gave me that brush. It is an eyebrow and eye lash separater brush from Walmart. Thanks for watching.
A great video and I'm glad you like my pattern. Let me know how you get on with it.
Thanks! Will do!
Seriously good trout streamer. A go-to pattern

One of the best fights on ultra light gear. your right they are awesome. thanks for watching video.
What is the glue you are using?
It's called Solarez Bonedry clear.I really like it .I think as far as a UV glue it works great. Not tacky ready to us fast.
Great little fly! I love the simple and effective ones, thanks for sharing!
Good looking jig. Thanks!
Might try that on the ice
Please hold up the materials packages so we can copy the details rather than just flashing them in front of the camera. Thank you.

I have had more luck catching crappie, bass and bream on an old fashioned doll fly than any other lure. Thanks for the video.
Great jig ill give this a go, cheers
