Hey sorry for being slow. In clipstudio I believe it's called lasso fill. In the direct draw tool section. I believe for us it's shortcut is u It's nice for sketching blocking and storyboard stuff but I wouldn't use it for cleaner more detailed fills. But obviously it's nice for fast lively shapes

Of course! If you haven't tried it already I highly recommend trying csp for free. It's so much more affordable and can do just as much or more sometimes than Adobe stuff

Hey sorry for the late reply. I was thinking of doing another video breaking down the different ways to shade with blackm but I will try and verbalize my hypothesis. You are right a good recognizable shape is good. But that just means simple andI would argue ovals can still fall in that category. Now one of the things he is doing is further emphasizing his design with his high contrast use of blacks. So however simple or weird a shape he uses is as long as it is a black against a white or light or visa versa that will be striking. And even thought some of the base illustration may look simple or even childlike its about his placement and how readable it is. Like how anime or action artists will start drawing a ninja or hero with less detail because they are moving so fast. Does that help? also you are right a lot of comic artists are fans of the curve vs straight method and its a good one. Reference bruce tim for that. But sometimes a simple stick arm as simple as it is is still all you need.It's like normally texture is great but some artists utilize very flat styles and it works for their project,

@@misfitartists4357 Ok. I think I get it a little bit more. In the same vein, I would say that Hugo Pratt's Corto Maltese comics are appealing for the same reason. A stroke here, a stroke there and boom. You have it, a sunset, a human head, a city. They say simplicity is an upper form of complexity, god they're right. God they're right.

@toriko2075 that's pretty much he nail on the head. The less you put down the more that stands out sometimes. Of course whenever I try it it just looks lazy though lol. They are masters for a reason

I've been thinking of Kellie's a lot lately! I had a friend that wanted to do a kelpie comic but with those transit scooters! Also we wanna use a lot of like half Celtics half korean folklore for our show htkam
