In the eighties I had my favourite restaurant who did a real hot Phal Indian curry, I had one every week for years, the morning after was the problem, sat on the loo in agony… a mate who stuck to Korma, Madras, Bhuna….all the milder ones decided to try a Phal, next day at work “ Didn’t affect me, I went to the loo as normal, all was fine, don’t understand you saying it’s always painful”…. Mid morning, he disappeared for about an hour, he eventually returned, a bit of swearing, a lot of discomfort and vowed never to eat another.

I was at a chili cook off here in Denver. As part of the festivities the dumb ass promoter had a chili eating contest with children who were to eat jalapenos. I said no way and every kid suffered,,,freakin rude. Heat is no joke...it simply doesn't go away...So actually the milk may have a cooling effect but it's the oils of the chili's that need to go away so eating bread or something that absorbs the oil is why I would recommend before the milk but why eat THAT? The brunette chick was boss..
