Be sure to have your sound turned up at 1:33 in the video so you can hear the nuns, who were standing on a picnic table to my immediate right! Also note that, on two occasions, the bear bluffed a charge at me to get me to back away. It worked perfectly. This Black Bear* showed up in Eaton Canyon in Pasadena, California on Labor Day, September 7, 2015 at around 11:15 a.m., even though literally ...

      I was very young at this time but I remember watching this version of WOF. Actually, when the show started and Pat came on, I always wondered, "Is Pat going to make to the wheel before the curtains come down?" Those curtains used to be used to conceal the prizes while the contestants played but by this time, they were only being used for Vanna to make her grand entrance.

    I can tell you, as Contestant #1 on this episode, that it was an enjoyable experience. It's also amazing to me that people cannot seem to avoid the "Bankrupt" and "Lose a Turn" wedges on the wheel. All I did was ask for a couple of practice spins before the taping and I was fine. There is a huge contiguous section of safe spaces on the wheel that could save contestants thousands of dollars with just a little effort.

      You did a great job on the show. Considering all of the prizes that you had won, including the Fiero, that’s a huge win in today’s standard. If Wheel ever decides to bring back some of their favorites back to play, would you do it?

    • @justinmiddleton8818
      @justinmiddleton8818 6 років тому

      +Anthony Guarino I know right, it sucks because there's literally no other way to see these classic episodes other than online. Too bad that Sony is so anal about their BS copyright and not giving those like us who enjoy the shows good ol' days an official way in which to watch them, or even re air them like they did on GSN back in the day when i was a kid. With that fact in mind downloading episodes from here, Dailymotion, Vimeo.etc is the only option i have for seeing the classic era of the show before it morphed into the gimmick fest with crappy puzzle writing and impossible Bonus rounds like we have seen the last few seasons.

    • @justinmiddleton8818
      @justinmiddleton8818 6 років тому

      +Darla Fanbridge Exactly, the people in charge there seem to be a lot less stingy and are not copyright Nazis about old Price episodes being uploaded on here from all the different eras of the show when compared to Sony and Wheel of Fortune episodes both with daytime and syndicated versions including old Jeopardy! uploads in some cases both the majority of the Trebek era and Art Fleming's OG run from 1964-1975. It seems judging from that extreme contrast the folks at FremantleMedia don't mind them being up here as long as they get ad revenue on the videos.

    • @justinmiddleton8818
      @justinmiddleton8818 6 років тому

      +Darla Fanbridge Most likely because of the series of lawsuits that said models took against Bob and the show itself over time, especially with Dian and Holly as well as Janice and Kathleen later after their respective departures among other controversies. This also includes the crusade against furs as prizes on earlier episodes prior to him becoming an animal rights advocate either shortly before or after his wife Dorothy Jo's death in 1981, and i guess with those facts in mind the execs figured "Well, these libraries of episodes probably will not be re aired in televised form in the immediate future if ever. Therefore, we will not stand in the way of people uploading their home recorded copies if they so desire to." which i guess was likely the resolution they came to. Basically, their decision i assume rested on the fact that a lack of airing on networks like GSN meant that fans uploading older episodes from VHS recordings and other sources on here would do no harm in terms of the show as it exists currently. So, they don't really mind people putting them on here as long as they reap the revenue from the ads that they put on the videos.

    • @justinmiddleton8818
      @justinmiddleton8818 6 років тому

      +Darla Fanbridge Yes, even though there are various factors including the aforementioned model issues currently withholding the show from being re run as far as older episodes go I'm glad at least Fremantle isn't being aggressive copyright Nazis and allowing these VHS rips and others to remain up for those who enjoy watching the classic eras from the Cullen days all the way to Drew's shows from about a decade ago. This shows at least they are more lenient and don't aggressively police uploads given all of the aforementioned circumstances, compare that with Sony who will swiftly take down Wheel of Fortune episodes old or new sometimes within hours of uploading and that's why i have had to resort to downloading as i know that they will eventually be taken down soon.

    This looks to be from the original broadcast as there are no GSN bugs and they show the mid-show fee plugs the nighttime show had in season one, which GSN usually didn't when they reran the 1983-84 nighttime season in the mid 90s.
