The soviet man will never say that they are russians, they are soviet. It's only in western world soviet = russians. Every educated russians at least poorly knows English or German. I think that russian elite often know at least one foreign language. Most case it's english.

I really enjoy this show, but this is definitely one of the worst written scenes. Individual actions are so far reaching that you would think very defined rules of engagement would exist. You cannot base your entire decision to use lethal force on what MIGHT be in a crate. No threat was presented here, no positive ID. As mentioned, not having an interpreter is just asinine. Yeah I know, that would have been too easy, but this infers everyone is just stupid with zero real world experience.

a couple of phrases to remember such as "ne strelyay" meaning "dont shoot". its the same in any other slavic language just so you cant feign ignorance because i know the world likes putting slavs down any chance they get. before you tell me you dont i've been discriminated against in 3 different non slavic countries for speaking a slavic language, despite not being russian.
