In this video, I briefly overview and install the AVS low-profile window visors. I would rate these 8/10 for looks and a 6/10 for function. The visors look great however there is a slight gap in the front visors causing them not to sit flush with the side mirror mount. As for function, there is some wind noise that I have noticed and the design of these doesn't allow you to roll the window down...

How does someone get involved in search and rescue?
@@pegasus7107 It all depends on your local area. Here in my county our search and rescue teams are organized through the sheriffs office so that’s where we have to start the volunteering processes. I would research what teams are in your area and try to connect with them and see where they recommend you to start. 👍🏼

Did you simply wedge the black panel controller wire in between the trim by the ac vent or did you have a cut a slit in the dash to have the wire hide flush?
I popped the panel off to run the wires then just popped the panel back in. I didn’t cut a slit or anything the wire is just pinched between the two panels. I’ve had no issues yet. 6:38
@ thank you, I appreciate the feedback. By far the cleanest setup I’ve seen yet !
Good video. I was trying to figure out how to install mine. Also was wondering if i should get the walls. How has it held up so far since install??
@@BitterCarGuy it’s held up pretty well so far I haven’t had any issues!
Nice video. Pro tip: leave your Chem lights in the package. UV light degrades the Chem inside. Get a real first aid kit from NAR or REFUGE medical. That’s important for life in general. Good video tho. Thanks for making it. Cheers bud!
i’ve been using the CONDOR MCR3 Modular Chest Panel which has 8 vertical by 4 horizontal MOLLE real estate. the shoulder strap in the back is an X harness and a waist strap. then got an accessory for the chest panel when i learned it can be attached with a hydration bladder carrier called the CONDOR Hydro Harness. i put a 2 or 3 liter water bladder on the carrier. when using the hydro harness, the X harness that came with the chest panel will be replaced by the shoulder straps of the hydro harness and essentially makes it into an “H” harness which i find more comfortable. the waist strap that came with the chest panel will still be used and will be routed through the lower part of the hydro carrier. the nice thing about the Hydro Harness’s shoulder strap is it’s padded so it’s comfortable and has D-ring to clip things and 2 horizontal MOLLE to add additional pouches if you want to. i use it to clip the radio’s speaker mic which is conveniently near my mouth. in addition to what i mentioned, there is also 3 velcro straps on the side of the shoulder strap of the carrier to route both the water bladder’s tube and radio antenna to make things streamlined. i too do not like those whip antennas whipping my face. besides, it is taught in radio comms that antennas should be in a vertical position to be more effective. in my experience in SAR operations, i find the dual band ABBREE 43 inch tactical antenna effective than whip antennas. i then put the antenna in the lower back MOLLE of the Hydro Harness using an antenna relocation pouch and a 35 inch antenna relocation cable. the antenna is now behind me so no more antenna in the face. when on transit or transmitting where people are quite close to each other, i use the antenna folded. and deploy the full length when longer distance is needed out in the field. if you still want to use your antenna, i suggest get the 20 inch relocation cable and antenna relocation pouch then zip tie the relocation pouch just behind your left or right shoulder. you’ll have better transmit and receive signal using your antenna. the admin pouch i use for the CONDOR MCR3 Chest Panel is the CONDOR T&T Admin Pouch. the pouch has an adjustable drawstring on the inside to limit the pouch from opening all the way that may cause to drop items from the inside and i use this feature as a flat “battle board” for viewing maps, GPS or cellphones using map apps like ATAK. the pouch also includes a removable see through map protector in the middle. with the dimension and space of the pouch, you don’t have to stick things outside of the pouch, although there is a lot of MOLLE at the front of the pouch too if you choose to add more pouches, but i don’t. the pouch’s height is thin, so is not bulky. but you could put a lot of things inside surprisingly. the next pouch i attached to the chest panel is the radio pouch. so that’s 2 pouches on the panel. i’ve been using this set up for 10 years :)
@@johnsarangel thanks for the insight and tips! I’ll look into it. Always open to trying new things.
@@jarridgordon2155 you’re welcome. Condor product’s prices are reasonable if not cheap, but they’re bombproof. this set up is not too big or not too small. it is modular/configurable. if only i could send photos here. i also designed and modified a condor set up for multi day SAR operations using the bigger Condor MCR4 Ops Chest Rig as the basic platform and can attach a 40 liter backpack to the chest rig if needed which condor doesn’t have 😬 on the rig are more meds using the Condor EMT Pouch, Condor Rip Away EMT Pouch, Condor Sidekick Pouch for admin and radio pouch. this is a full sized chest rig. the backpack contains provisions for food, water, appropriate clothes based on weather and patient’s survival “needs.”
That was a very helpful and well thought out response sir. I don't do SAR, but do use similar gear for things. Thank you for the food for thought. Especially the radio ideas.
Do you need to use the included SD memory card (like are there files on it that are required for it to run the camera), or can you just use a different SD card without having to add any files and reformat it?
@@matthewscott3689 I’m not 100% sure. I think once you boot the camera once with their SD card you could probably swap in any other card you want.

You really should get rid of the Mora. For rescue you might want a very different knife. Not such a keen point, maybe a serration. Rest is not too bad I think
Great video. This has been super helpful. Just purchased the front and rear kit. Do you think its valuable to do the rear camera portion and go through the extra labor? Also, are you pleased with the location of the rear camera? I have seen some people opt for the waterproof / outdoor rear camera from FitcamX and mount it directly under the rear wing portion outside. I'm hesitating on the inside mount only bc it may get knocked around with gear, etc. I am also not sure if seeing the little camera while looking in the rear view mirror would annoy me (I'm so used to a clean line of site). Would love to know your feedback now that you have had it installed for a few months. Thanks in advance.
@@brianl4941 if you live in a state that requires front plates I think having a rear camera can be very useful. I personally don’t mind the location of the camera. It is out of the way and I don’t really notice it in my rear view mirror. I keep my dog in the trunk and have had gear back there with no issues. You can use an outside camera I just didn’t want to mess with any of the weather stripping of the rear hatch and possibly have a leak trying to run wires from outside into the cabin.
Valid points on the weatherstripping and potential leaks. Thank you!
Great idea to bypass the alligator clamps

It's so funny, I was looking into some new stuff for SAR over the weekend and had this same exact chest pack (with a lot of the same accessories) in my Amazon list. Then I came across your video, haha. Have you noticed any issues with the nylon straps on the Wynex pouch being abrasive? I saw a review where someone mentioned that it started rubbing away the material on their shirt.
@@christopherz92 I haven’t noticed issues with mine. Given our team shirts only have a logo on the left chest. But I haven’t noticed any damage to my shirt fabric even when wearing under a backpack. 🎒
I’ll have to check my 4Runner. I have a light squeak too lol
Did it work?
Thanks man Ima check that probly exactly what i'm hearing great video to the point and real, and enjoyable :)
Did it work?
Stop hating on the guys video. He is on here sharing content all of you that have negative comments should help support him if you actually have experience in SAR. The best way to get better is to have the support and experience of the guys that came before you. I have been doing SAR for 25 years in my department and we spend plenty of times in the mountains. Way more than what we used to have to for some reason. Carry what works for you. When we did our NASAR training we all carried these huge pack that would break your back. Didn't take us long to down size alert that. Our deployments are always less than 24 hrs so we have be÷n able to stream line quite a bit. Not going into a huge list of what I carry but gone is the big pack that I have to take off to access anything that I need. Now I use a chest rig for the things that I need to get to often, a tactical waist pack for things that I don't need as often (I refuse to call it a fanny pack lol), and a molle 3 liter hydration pack with my radio pouch and ifak. This set up distributes the weight well and works for me. After that hit the woods test your gear and tweak your set up. Great video. Keep it up.
@@emp7786 Thank you for the support and insight on your load out! I’ve been looking into a waist pack as well! Stay safe out there 👍🏼
Where did you purchase the mounting bracket from?
The mount for the rear camera I printed on the 3d printer. The link to the design file is in the description
Thanks! Any additional suggestion options for install? . Just installed mine and trying to figure out what’s best to mount it.
@@MrNigel327 I’ve seen people file the push pin flat so to camera has more flat surface to stick to. But there is not to many options for the rear camera unless you print your own mount. I’m sure you could buy a piece of flat metal from the hardware store and put a hole in it and mount it with an m6 bolt as well.

@@jarridgordon2155 Ah~. Thank you so much!
You have several sub-kits packed which makes for good organization in your pack, but I noticed that most of them are in pouches made of heavy cordura. The CPR and First Aid kit needs to be protected, but your clothes and hygiene kits could be placed in a lighter set of stuff sacks, like the REI lightweight nylon ditty bags, which would save you ounces and take up less space in your pack. Just a thought, I know that ounces over miles become heavy. Thanks for volunteering! I had great success calling out our local S&R Team when I worked in LE. Fantastic people.

It's been a while. How are they holding up and does water get in when driving down the highway?
So far so good. I’m in AZ so I haven’t had many rains to test it out in. The main advantage for me is the extra sun blocking effects and the ability to leave the windows cracked.:)
Of all the videos, I actually found this one the simplest to understand. Every other video drags out and adds extra fluff, but this was straight to the point. Thanks!

@@jarridgordon2155 absolutely, my only question is you mentioned you didn’t tap a fuse in the fusebox of the engine bay because of the protrusion and inability to seal the cover on again. Is that the real why you punched through the grommet to the interior for acc mode fuse instead?
