You going to get it figured out brother! Dont get discouraged and ride safe. Get real comfortable with friction zone on your clutch and that will make a world of difference at speeds under 5mph and keep the back wheel spinning when you not at a stop. It will all take time but in the end, it will pay off. There no better feeling than wind therapy!

For you as a new rider. I know this was about a year ago, but I suggest taking the MSF coarse for beginning riders at Harley Davidson. Then subscribe to Robert Simmons "Be The Boss of Your Motorcycle". It's always good to learn from those who are very good at it

Put it in first gear and give it more throttle. Harleys hate lugging.

Happy birthday Man but I got to say if you are that new to bikes then you should’ve never bought a road glide should’ve bought a smaller bike to get the basics down and watching you drop that bike man that hurt to see but gotta give you credit for hopping on a big bike for the first time and actually trying it

Nice! I remember the first time on a bike. Think I was 8 years old, and almost as happy as this dude. Stopped riding in my 20's and got back in for my 50th and purchased 2019 RG (similar bike). Even though I knew how to ride I took the MSF course. Taught me things I never thought of. Great course and highly recommend. Hope you are still riding. Keep rubber side down. Peace!

Just to be safe I would suggest getting proper training and taking a class with course training. Just concerned for his safety, when getting on a bike you want to know how to operate it properly for your well-being and everyone else's.

I would be at a park or empty parking lot. Not in front of my neighbors. Gotta had it to him tho, he’s got heart! Take a class! That stuff applies. Once you learn the rules and basics, it becomes easier. When you see other riders, they are playing by the same rules. Friction zone, brakes and turn your head. They all do it. Ride with no fear. Confidence is supreme.
