Atwood Trailmix Course Preview 4K
Переглядів 17311 місяців тому
A preview of what to expect if you race Trailmix at Atwood Park in Rockford. I rode the course we did in 2022 so the 2023 may be slightly different but it's gotta be pretty close :).
WORS Treadfest Course 2023 4K
Переглядів 69Рік тому
Preview of the 2023 WORS Treadfest Sport/Elite Course. Course took me about 55 minutes to complete and tried to shrink video down to under 20. Omitted 30 minutes of climbing and doubletrack sections. Great Course overall. Thanks for watching!
Lil Monza Clockwise 4K

Starting from top of Silo Hill, a clockwise lap around Lil Monza :) Might not be true 4k until tomorrow 6/27.
Raceway Woods / Meadowdale Down 4K

From Serpentine to top of East Meadowdale and down. Fun little flow trail!
Psychopath Down / Turf 4K

Quick trip down Psychopath then East on Turf to the fire road.
Paul Douglas Blue/Orange Loop Counter Clockwise
Переглядів 372Рік тому
Whole loop takes just under an hour to complete. I rode it on a Saturday so direction was counter clockwise. Decent loop to bang out some miles but no features or tech to talk about. It's just an all around twisty XC singletrack. The green and red loop on west side of park had much faster flow. Video of those to come.
Alpine Valley / 3 Hour WEMS Race 5-13-23
Переглядів 135Рік тому
Longer video than I usually like, condensed it to 15 minutes of a 3 hour day, but I wanted to sample what Alpine Valley bike trails are like. If you're looking for a nice beating, this event does the trick! Accidentally filmed in 4:3 versus 16:9 Superview so view a little smaller than normal :(
2023 SWK Showdown Preview 4K

I hate long videos but for those who don't know Saw Wee Kee that well and have signed up for the race this weekend, this is a full course preview to give you a taste of whats to come.
Saw Wee Kee - DNE / Bandito Eastbound 4K
Переглядів 114Рік тому
Another couple trails in my local complex of SWK. Does Not Exist is a punchy short twisty and Bandito is a longer trail with a burst climb that will wind that HR up in a hurry.
Palos Forest Preserve - XX Extension / Bloodshed 4K
Переглядів 329Рік тому
The beat you up loop that is XX Extension Westbound up Extension Summit then around into Bloodshed where the infamous 'Don't Look Back' is.
Palos - Gravity Down / XX Westbound 4K
Переглядів 244Рік тому
First run of the season down Gravity then switching over to the more technical side of riding on XX heading west.
Palos - Turf Eastbound 4K
Переглядів 250Рік тому
In the good old Palos triangle, from the top/end of Was Illegal then Turf eastbound to the Fire Road. Sorry for the grunting towards the end, these Spring lungs need work lol!!!
Saw Wee Kee - Bandito Westbound 4K
Переглядів 56Рік тому
Westbound on Bandito at Saw Wee Kee in Oswego, IL.
Saw Wee Kee - Backlot Loop
Переглядів 333Рік тому
A loop around the back (west) section of Saw Wee Kee in Oswego. Loop is consisted of Plateau, Colossus, and Boomerang. Nice little lung burner if done continuously lol.

SWK - Jackrabbit / Log Skimmer Clockwise
Makes a lot more sense than the published course map!
@@nickconol1428 glad to hear! That’s why I wanted to put the vid out there. Give people a little perspective :)
I love this trail. I’ll usually ride this to surreal to hidden gem and loop back. Def the best tech trails in the area. So much fun!
I still need to ride surreal. Early in my Mtb career I went left at the slough not knowing where I was going and scared the crap out of me. I think I could handle it now but 4 years later I have still yet to take that left turn lol!!!! Agreed though, xx and extension are best tech. I’m sure surreal is to, just need to bite the bullet and go
Have you ridden this trail with 800mm bars? If so is that too wide?
I have not. I don’t remember anything at PD being super narrow so I would imagine 800 will be fine but honestly, for me, chopping them down to 780 is the perfect riding width :)
Could you tell me the width of your handlebars in this video?
Hey Jeff! They were 800 mm that I cut down to 780. I really like that width.
780 mm
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤦🏾♂🤦🏾♂🤦🏾♂🤦🏾♂
Some narrow tree gaps. Not sure if that's just the GoPro effect or it's really that narrow. What size bars are you running?
Late reply sorry! I run 780mm. It’s amazing the difference 780 to 800 is when it comes to missing trees lol!
This is a fantastic video to showcase Atwood. Recently went there for the first time and can't want to use this to encourage more folks to join.
a 24 minute loop thats damn good work sir
What wheels are you running?
My daily wheels and what this video was shot with are DT Swiss XM 481's with a Maxxis 2.4 Forekaster up front and Maxxis 2.3 Dissector in the rear. I like it for an everyday most conditions setup :)
Had good luck at Atwood on the leaves with 2.4 Dissectors front and rear. Was thinking about giving Ikon's a try there in better weather.
A race @atwood?
Yes, Every year around October 1st or 2nd the have a race called Trailmix. Its put on by Rock River Multisport. There is a 2 mile run/10 mile bike/2 mile Duathlon or you can just bike. There is a Sport 10 mile (2 lap) and a Comp 20 mile (4 lap) race. It's honestly my favorite race of the season.
Awesome Video! I've ridden Palos a few times but I've never seen these trails before. Does this video start at the fork of XX Extension and Dynamite Road?
Sorry for the late reply: Thanks Jonathan!! Glad you liked it :). Yes, the video starts where dynamite Road intersects with XX extension. So you just take Dynamite road all the way down, cross the street, and you’ll come up on it.
Great Video! - I just recorded this segment myself, would love to compare notes sometime.
Thanks! Anytime! It’s funny how videos never really capture the trail as it is felt when ridden lol!
Up next is silo hill climb💀
Lol Nick. I would post that but I figured most people would find it boring to watch even though you and I know that climb is far from boring lol
@@shawneggers4484 if i had the legs, would go down corkscrew, stay right to climb the stairway up to tarmac then get back in entrance to monza, lastly get down silo hill back to the creek. Ive seen it done, but i would probably need an ebike in my case.😂
@@nickconol1428 yes, that sounds painful! Let’s just start at the creek, head up silo hill, down corkscrew, up to the bike path, in at monza and back down silo hill to the creek. That should about do it!! Next time I go there I’ll do it and record it so you can watch me suffer lol. Always love a good challenge :)
I was expecting you to dip in the creek at the end.😂
LOL, not this time :).
A couple of months ago, you said you have no idea what you are doing. Look at you, you have an intro going and everything. Keep it up.
Hey Chris, thanks! I appreciate it. Production is nothing like a lot of good content out there but it works for now. Simple and to the point :)
Wonder where we could get an updated map for the east side.
Yes, even Trailforks doesn’t have the blue extension yet. Considering how nice the signs are on the west side are, I’m sure it’s coming.
Awesome trails! It would be nice if the trails were named instead of just given different colors for the trails by the Park District.
Agree!! In fact I don’t even know the colors lol, I only know them by name.
Sick park
👍💪👌
Great run! Good job on hitting that last drop. It takes some serious guts. Also, the lip next to the tree is mellower compared to the bottom.
Thanks! Gotta get more reps with it. Definitely gonna hit that side lip next time :). Your trip to Arkansas looked awesome btw.
I like these bite size bike videos under 10 min, with just enough dialogue. Keep it up Shawn.
Thanks for the input Sam! Yes, actually trying to keep them under 5 min. Just enough to enjoy but not bore lol!!
I hit like and subbed!
Appreciate the love! Not trying to be a UA-camr or anything. I’m just trying to post some good quality, enjoyable mtb clips :)
Which trail is that at the end of video ? Asking for a friend .
On trail forks, it’s referred to as bullfrog lake trail. The trail head is right when you turn into bullfrog lake parking lot.
@@shawneggers4484 thanks . Going west ? That is the first trail I ever rode at palos about 25 years ago on 1.5 inch road tires . Couldn't wait to get back to the lot .
Yup, going west :). Yes that trail has changed quite a bit from when I rode it back it the late 90’s lol!!
I see you got your comments section going. All you have to do now is keep them videos coming 👍
Thanks for watching Chris :)
do more
Thanks J! I’ll try and get better at this :). Thanks for watching!
