First off his name is solomon and secondly yugi almost lost the duel with the exact same deck he only won because of exodia if we assume that grandpa didnt draw exodia then he drew his last pathetic card and lost fairly plus kaiba was a master level duelist besides yugi and pegasus he was undefeated he dommed the fuck out of battle city he beat noah he beat gozubora he beat the seal mother fuckers he was very easily the prince of game only ever losing to yugi in the beginning then in the battle city finals with 1 win inbetween so before his loss to yugi we can assume he was the king of game of the era so when dueling grandpa it was duel between masters not just the king of games vs some dude it was king vs king and kaiba just happened to come out on top

All the modern yugioh shows did was shit all over the history and try replace it all with bs multi universal garbage.

Someone here said it best. TRISTAN with his Duelist Kingdom deck should have been the one to Duel Duke and lose. And Joey should have dueled Duke in Tristans honor and WON, showing how Joey truly would do anything for a friend. This would have set the seeds of resentment early for Tristan and Dukes rivalry later on especially for Serenity.

Duke legit could’ve been the protagonist of his own series in the franchise if DDM had taken off like they wanted it to. I still think he’s a better character than Honda and that Honda is the most expendable of the main group and that swapping him and Honda would’ve made the story better
