Why do you add the Y at the hydrant?
Standen da noch alte Auto drin ? Wenn ja, ist das sehr Schade. In Deutschland haben Auto die weit über 40 Jahre alt sind, einen hohen Wert.
One of the best quality video's I've seen
Bet that battery tender or welder was the root cause. that thing is angry and doesn't wanna go out. Sad a wlder cost that person so much in damage.
our fire trucks use dawn liquid soap detergent. cheaper then foam. non toxic. non corrosive. chokes out fires fast. and everything gets clean.
cheapo...
Listen no disrespect to vollies but this pro was off the truck and IN IT in under two minutes.
Looking like a magnesium block or mag parts burning.
That was a firefighter death trap. Good job identifying so many hazzards.
The instinct to not go under the garage door and go through the main door was solid. Garage doors can easily fail when the springs heat up or track fails. It’s too bad the brothers didn’t understand how to pop the hinges off the door using the hook. Solid knockdown using solid stream and tank water while making secondary water supply. Love seeing the hook dropped in the track to keep door from dropping down. Good stuff brothers.
Glad to see you didn't just keep spraying the magnesium once you realized that's what it was!!! The number of times I've watched younger guys do that is unfathomable.
Sucks to see that 57 in there
it looks okay, easily restorable, but i am worried about what the demolition crews will do with it.
I'd love to ride on this engine. Professionals all around. Strong work!
The arch going across the table at 4:00.
We never noticed that! Wow!
i thought they spray water out of those hoses? why does it look like soap or paint coming out of the hose?
@@CozmicTaco1 we use foam which is pretty much highly concentrated soap mixed with water and air to put the fire out more effectively
I think they could have used more pressure on that combfog nozzle. But the garage interior fire load was fairly small, no danger of Flashover. But these Brothers did a great job!
Door left open just letting you know
@@mrkal222-zc3ml plays zero effect on the firefighting effort
@@RCFD-C-Shift yeah ok I just wanted you to know
Go pro on pack >> helmet cam. Nice POV and good work 👍🏽
Nice job, but a word of advice, don't include any video of you guys standing up in the truck while it's moving. That could be used against you if you ever get into an accident to deny a workman's comp claim.
Good job
You know, that nozzle has more settings than straight stream.
We pump foam on every fire. Straight stream essentially is the most effective throwing the foam.
@@RCFD-C-Shift Never heard of foaming every job but every place is different. Don't know what class A foam costs but it's your call.
@@RealJeep it’s expensive but effective. We use a CAFS engine and they spent the extra 80k on the onboard compressor so might as well use it 😂
@@RCFD-C-Shift My dad retired from IAFF 494 and I retired from local 4173. I have seen a thing or two about different ways to do things. I always used to dump a half bottle of Dawn in our 750 gal booster tank, that worked for us and worked well for cheap.
That whole garage looked like a death trap. Way too much clutter in there. You earned your pay on this one!!
Wow time on scene with water going is just out of this world, some vids have 10 guys running around for 7, 8 minutes with nothing going on
Nozzle man is top tier. The nozzle though, complete junk!
Great video. I was on this F.D. in the mid 70's to early 80's. I was also one of the first medics when Ravenna city took over the ambulance service from the funeral homes.. Then we provided medic services for Ravenna Township also..
Great video. I was on this FD from the mid 70's to early 80's, when Batsch was chief. Firefighting sure has changed since then. Quick knockdown.
Gooo.
Amerikanisches Englisch mit Atemschutz! Nix verstehn!
Finally glad to see a video where I’m not shaking my head the whole time because of tactics, nozzle man had a great line stretch, mask up time, and aggressive manner.
When I was in the Navy they taught us about metal fires, even saw a couple demonstrations. Thankfully I never had to fight one. Not something that is easy to deal with. Water typically makes them worse. That is what the really bright fire near the work bench was. Probably magnesium or possibly zinc but unlikely. The problem is when metal ignites it creates its own oxygen, fuel and heat, so water has little effect except to spread it around and because its so hot it breaks the water into hydrogen and oxygen that can also ignite. KEEP YOUR SHOPS CLEAN PEOPLE.
Ok.
You just have to keep putting a lot of water on it, but you don't want to be close to it. And make sure it's fully out, use a TIC.
im not a fire fighter but makes me wonder why does the fire engine leaks sooo much water? o_o is that normal?
@@theroaringnoodle very normal. When filling the tank from the hydrant, any excess water spills out since it can’t overfill.
@@RCFD-C-Shift oh! I thought that there is like a valve that like.. shots down so cant pick up excess water while it's filling? Or some fire engines have that?
why don't fire departments shut off power to a home when they arrive
@@beckyb943 the power was shut off by the OIC upon arrival
@@RCFD-C-Shift by the power company? here, (where i live) our power company (ELECTRA) is responsible for flipping pole breakers to the surface line of a burning building. if they can't get to the pole fuse, then they shut of power to the whole circuit, by dropping out the DDO's if necessary!. it would feel a bit strange when the power goes out in you house and your nowhere near the fire.
Once you have hydrant tapped and flowing, whay not shut the tank to pump handle? I only say this as you want to have that tank as a back up in case hydrant goes haywire.
Ravenna is a city in Italy
@@pierruno yes. They have sent us tons of vintage items from their department
Great Video! However, I Wonder Where Their Backup was at.
@@user-ek6yi1qu3s mutual aid was slightly delayed but they arrived on scene roughly 5 minutes after we arrived
@@RCFD-C-Shift Cool! You Guys did a Great Job in the Video!
Poor classic cars
When he is in on the left spraying the car and the ceiling above is that a frog that jumps down on a car?
Idiot and the door garage is wide open! Fool go back to fire school
Weih oh weih
Does Ravenna only have the engine full staffed? Simillarly, yall are career right?
@@bm7151 we have an engine, a tower, and 2 ambulances. Staffing is usually 7 with a minimum staffing of 4. Based on what the call comes in as, we usually respond with what’s necessary so in this case with staffing of 5, 4 on the engine and 1 followed in the ambulance. Yes we are full time only here.
Why doesn't anyone use a fog pattern anymore?
With the use of our foam, a fog isn’t effective
Fire magnesium very dangerous. Greetings, a firefighter from Poland
Nice job, why is it still just the first truck on scene. Is this a volunteer department
Nope. Full time only department. We are usually at minimum staffing of 4. 3600 calls a year. Mutual aid arrives but entered from the other side of the street.
Isn’t magnesium great?????
I've been "retired" over 20 years, but I still remember them!
good ole mag. no water on old vw's.
My two year old grandson loves fire trucks. Thank you for this video.

Magnesium in there as well 😅
Sloppy housekeeping is a fire hazard.
