My dad used to make these for me and my brother and we’d take them to the Savannah He would also tell us about kite fighting with a razor attached to the kite and you’d try to cut the opponent’s kite string

It needs more tail
The tail needs to blance the bottom of d kite ,in other for it not to spin and fall

In Bermuda we make one that's very similar.
Back in the days in Jamaica, we would attached razor blades on the tails of our kites and cut down people's kite flying too close to our kites. I missed the good old days.

I DON'T believe you. That's a wonderful Myth as it's impossible to achieve. Your kite tail will be swinging and entangle the kite twine. It's NOT a swift clean cut and NEVER will be. I have made and flown many HOMEMADE kites, of my own, since I was 7yrs old and NEVER have I ever witnessed this phenomenon you speak of. Yep. Razor blades and we used to make a flour and water paste and mix it with broken glass and spread it on the tail to cut the other kites down. Miss dem days.
