Hello please, dear viewer! My name is wolfyFTW, and this is my channel.
I am a long-time casual and competitive gamer who particularly enjoys fast-paced first person shooters. I have over thirteen years and five thousand hours of experience in games like Counter-Strike, Battlefield 2142, Team Fortress 2, CoD: MW2, Tribes: Ascend, Hawken, and Battlefield 4. I just love how immersive these games are, while demanding a high level of skill and mental acuity to succeed.
Recently, though, these kinds of games have acquired the stereotype of attracting the dumbest, most offensive, and most immature players in all of multiplayer videogameland. With that stereotype has come the perception that these sorts of games are somehow less strategic, less mentally demanding than other genres, and that is why they attract the crowd that they do.
Nothing could be further from the truth, and I've dedicated this channel to proving just that.

Project M Friendlies - Recorded 5/14/2014 Been playing a lot and figured I'd record them and upload the best ones (aka the ones where I don't horribly self-destruct off the edge over and over). Losses where we both played well are fair game, though! Music, in order, is: Nintendo - Corneria (SSBBrawl OST) All That Jazz - Legend of Ashitaka (Ghibli Jazz) I'm not that great at this game yet. Addendum #1 - Turns out you can cap B as a titan sitting outside the building, rendering my stairwell-of-safety strategy completely useless! Whoopsies, haha! This video changed Hawken for me back in the day. No lie, it was the single most game-upping tutorial video I've ever seen in the past decade, and every time I talk about how much I miss Hawken, I mention this video for it's baller title. No joke it took me from garbage to actually pretty good at the game. Every time Hawken pops into my mind, so does your video. Thanks for the help in making Hawken my favorite PVP game of all time.
Beautiful!
For me you just can't beet thermo for spotting and dealing with foot soldiers. Great video mate very helpful
Good video.... to much of information...thanks
do you still play ?
OMG you did it!! Good to see you back at it man! :D
hello please!
Next video, I promise :)
It's a wolfy! FrankerZ
Very mindful Video, thank you
Welcome back!
Great help, thanks!
This series was amazing to have years ago. Transformed the way I played Hawken and indeed til this very day, it's helped my skills in other games. You taught me how to actually think during combat. I always search youtube to find videos similar to this series but I always come up short. Would love if your brought this series back for newer games like Overwatch and such. Is that possible? Cheers man, thank you. <3
awww man thank you :). Been busy with school past two years but I'm definitely playing a ton of OW and will try to make some vids for that
You just got me all excited haha! Can't wait for those vids! :D Been rewatching all your Hawken vids too. Man seeing names like Saturnine and h0bo really takes me back. Good times.
broken af
I cant view episode 2 - this video is private
hawken looked so much cooler then
Its not his fault I do the same . Im good at the game but dont see the point in trying since you get the same xp for just stittig there. Hawken has comunist XP everyone gets basicly the same xp depended on play time
I really like your hawken mindgamer series please make more! I learned so much! I got to lvl 30 because of u. Come back wolfy!!
Whatever happened to ur bf4 vids? U really educated me and now I'm a better player
School, mainly. I would love to get back into making more videos, but I don't even have time to play that many games right now. It makes me really happy to hear that I was able to help you improve your game, though, and I'm sorry I haven't been able to make anymore content recently.
Yeessss you think just like me. Your video was fantastic- thanks!
Hey, could you do an mindgamer episode on "survivability" by chance? =]
So, wich server do you guys usually play? I would like to tag along if possible..
Hey there Wolfy, I just finished watching your two titanfall vids (out of order). Too bad there were only those.. Please release some more!
Hey! that's me! :D
lol. Wolfy, you are right though, being called a hacker is the best compliment in the game. Good job.
3:37 was beautiful
knee ko @ 61% jesus i thought pm falcon was bad
Great content dude. Subbed.
great job on the video.
jjord64, the guardian engineer. He died a hero. Gone, not forgotten.
OMG, the movie references were real!
Nice! Good to see more people playing this game. What region are you in?
Hey Xacius! Long time no chat. I'm midwest, with sometimes decent ping to east coast.
I 'm a subscriber , so i figured I should check this out... WTF?
hmm?
Man how can you mix BF4 with this child game...... you should keep the same Content
I play whatever games interest me. And I wouldn't be so quick to judge this game as "childish" just because it has less "realistic" graphics and characters. Both BF4 and Project M are fun, but I find this game to be strategically deeper and more mentally demanding. Don't be fooled by how it looks. On top of all the technical skills there are to master, you have to learn to read your opponent and adapt to their playstyle accordingly, all in the span of a few short matches. Didn't anyone teach you not to judge a book by its cover?
I have seen the game since it was on CUBE I friend of mine used to play it. Is like mortal combat kind off a fight game
Damn you guys are good
This mech looks a lot more awesome than the ones I've been using in my few first hours. How can i get the build you're using?
This video is well over a year old! Hawken has changed a LOT since then :P but I'd imagine the fundamentals are still the same.
wolfyFTW Holy shit, it has. Well I'm not gonna lie, either the way you have your UI customized or just the way it looked back then made it look a helluva lot more awesome. I haven't even seen most of the maps that showed up in this video yet.
da da dam da dam dam Only in Battlefield!
That was a great video!
how do you spawn in your titan, i never figured that out
In the spawn screen, there's two buttons on the bottom center of your screen - one to spawn as pilot, and one to spawn as titan. You can swap between them using A/D (on keyboard), and so if your titan is ready, just press A then spacebar to spawn in as titan.
Please keep up this series, really really interesting, clear and well made ! Can't wait for episode 3 !
Great video! I loved the stutter-stepping, constant attention to the minimap + surroundings, the analysis of the changing frontline and how you handled territory control. The clip at the end was cute as well. On an unrelated note, can we have more Hawken vids please? The new updates are fun.
Props for you working hard to explain the thought process in this game. good editing too. Its been my favorite game and watching this really organizes how pilots think in the game. most of us have our own plans, but very few step back and publishes an explanation. thank you for being that guy!
Nice trick with the grenades! I feel sorry for the other team, though. I'd have been soooooo pissed off. I don't agree with closing in on a titan about to be doomed, though. The vast majority of players I come up against seem to use nuclear ejection specifically to prevent execution kills. If anything, I try and retreat to make it harder for ejecting pilots to land on me and to avoid getting caught in the inevitable blast radius.
This can be a problem, but most of the time if you react quickly enough you can get out of the blast zone before nuclear ejection goes off. The windup is pretty long, and for the most part your dash should be able to recharge in time to get you out of there.
Do you know of a youtuber that is great at this game and uploads regularly at least 3 times a week?
My only advice would be to Harvey grunts while y'all have the lead to get to dmg core quicker so that when they drop theirs you'll be able to do more dmg.
Well played. That scoreboard feels all too familiar though. You almost singlehandedly did all of the heavy lifting, and at least in my personal opinion, that can get pretty frustrating, especially in games where you're the only one in your team doing well and you lose because of it. Then again, it's not like people play intentionally worse than what they are actually capable of, just to frustrate their team, so it's not exactly their fault.
Good work as usual, Wolfy. I watch these videos even though I don't even play Titanfall, and I like how you've added an opening and closing of sorts using tutorial(?) footage.
I had not considered aiming down sights to improve the precision of my grenades before. Thanks for the tip! Overall a very good video!
excellent and logical
Wow. U sir need 2 take me under ur wing. Im a pc noob n u have opened my eyes as to what i shud b thinking about whilst playing. Definitely subbing.
I miss these tutorial!
