She is my third cousin through her mother Abigail Hall's line. My father knew and wrote many old folk songs of his own from the hills of Kentucky. Music flows in the bloodlines.

I'm so glad you were there, Russ, to record this historic moment. The "McLain Family Band" has to be the most iconic Appalachian, Folk, Bluegrass group to ever exist, carrying on our music for everyone, near and far, to enjoy!

Me and Paul had a mutual friend and that's how I met him. At Dan Proffitts house in Newport TN 25 years ago I'd say. Paul probably don't remember it but I sure do!

My dad introduced me to Jean Ritchie's music when I was growing up in the 60's and I really liked it. When I was a teenager, I had the rare opportunity to see her in concert! Thanks so much for posting this great documentary.
