What a great shoe, really fantastic for people with bad knees, as well as bad feet! Good job, New Balance!

I'm watching this 10 years after it was posted -- just goes to show that the 928 remains an amazing shoe to this day in 2022. Just one question: how do you protect the nice leather from drying out and cracking on these shoes? I have the light gray/tan color and I've been afraid to use mink oil paste, thinking it might darken the color. But mink oil paste is absolutely the best when it comes to preserving leather and keeping it soft and supple. What do you recommend using for the 928? Hope you're still around and will see my comment. Thanks!

The 623 is like a second skin on my feet. I was given a pair for a birthday present. I was a reebok fan before these. These shows are so comfortable. The only downside is that the sole will come loose after a year or more. I picked up some shoe glue from Home Depot and fixed them. I've been wearing the same pair for about 3 years now. I have a spare pair in my closet for when these finally give up the ghost.

How do 608, 623 and 624 compare? Seems impossible to find the info, is the confusion intentional on the part of New Balance marketing?

I put 2,500 miles on my running shoes EVERY YEAR. I've worn New Balance stability shoes since the 1225. However, this fall, I switched to Brooks Adrenaline GTS 17, because they turned the 1260 v7 into a racing flat. I think this year's 990 is the real New Balance stability shoe, but the pair I tried felt like I was wearing cement shoes. For shame, New Balance! For shame! The 860 doesn't do it for me, they are for moderate over-pronators. FYI, the Brooks GTS 17 is not as good as the 1260 v6 and earlier. Again: FOR SHAME, NEW BALANCE! Can't you running shoe companies just stick with what works, instead of monkeying around with the shoes every fucking year??!?!?!?!?!

I work on concrete so my boss bought me a pair of these 990s and sprang for the memory foam insoles. Best shoe I've ever owned very comfy it's like walking on a cloud, a bit expensive but well worth the money and made in the USA .

Excuse me I have a question. But what if you are doing Cross Country or Track and you run everyday aside from sunday's?

When it gets wet it stinks and the smell doesn't go away,problem is you never know when a thunder storm is going to pop up. Fit is great,but can't wear stinking shoes.....

Incredibly well-engineered shoe. My V1 has a year of regular use& it's hard to tell! Best of all - it doesn't get in the way of how your foot was meant to function from the get-go.

Good to hear the tongue doesn't move-the only annoying issue I had with 890v2. Looks like i will have to start wearing the V3 this summer...but i 'm too tempted to transition to the 1400. But why have NB not update the 1400???

That's my favorite color blue!The V2'sa tongue moves to the outer side, does the V3 do that? I wouldn't say these are for beginners, who need a support or stability shoe. You need some good technique to run in faster, lighter shoes like the 890 and 1400.

I purchased a pair of the v3's and I can say these are excellent . The downfall of the v3 has to be that pressures point pain, I get it within minutes on my left foot so I have to lace it further down to avoid it, also the laces are a bit on the long side, even more extra weight could be saved by shrtening and the heel part of the trainers does not hold my heel tight and secure as it should but apart form those it's excellent 9 out of 10.

hi, how will you compare these with the 860v2. i overpronate but i don know the differences between models.

I wear orthotics for severe over pronation, and have been wearing the NB MR860 for years. These shoes are fantanstic. But, I would like something with more cushioning, something like the asics gel-kayano - I require a b width shoe as my feet are very narrow, thus the reason i have not switched to asics as their womens shoes just don't fit right. Alex, what shoe do you suggest?
