A truck camping setup that you can easily take in and out. This is a simple, no-fluff design.
Did you use 1/4 inch plywood?
Thanks for putting this up. My wife and I want to try it. What thickness plywood did you use? In the video, it looks like 3/4 or 5/8, but I'd like to be sure.
Thank you. I sincerely appreciate your content. Your right. The aluminum frames are a little more Rare in the RV community.
It was extremely helpful for me thank you so much.
Thank you for your video! I'm in the middle of gutting the back walls of my new-USED-1992 Tioga Arrow Class C. And I'm not sure what I'm going to find under the plywood panels.
Almost exactly what I was thinking, storage under with a level place for a mat, thanks.
Thank you so much you are so right, there are not many videos at all about replacing new wood panel into an rv. I’m grateful for this video ❤️
I am doing as you all on my 36' Holiday Rambler. I will be using the basic smooth wood paneling and then applying 3M photo decal tiles that also are vapor resistant.
I really enjoy your straightforward, calm clear style Tyler. Thank you for the info. Yours is the only instructional video I have found about affixing wood to aluminum studded trailer walls. Thank you. Please release more content when you have time 😊.
Thanks for looking out. I just became aware I have a leak. YAY!
From a structural standpoint, it looks like you used a lot of unnecessary lumber there. You could have used the indents already molded into the Tacoma bed for the cross slats and then ran a single stringer (like a 2x8) down the middle for support. Would save a lot of weight! I then use those long plastic bins on each side of the stringer for drawers. Nice build though, these always end up being completely custom and unique to the user!!
Did you try self tapping sheet metal screws?
How do you cut the panel to fit odd places. Is there a technique?
Very helpful. Thanks!!
I like your approach to make it. Keep it simple. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
Very helpful indeed! Thank you for your video
Was, in fact, very helpful
You could get the fatigue matt pieces that interlock and glue them to the plywood with contact cement spray from harbor freight
How long are those vertical 2x4s
Sweet! Simple and useful
Thanks for the video. I haven’t read all the comments, forgive me if someone already asked but I was wondering why you chose not to hang the right side support over the wheel well? Good job and making it removable!
I too am wanting to do this. I was sad you did not address the paneling gaps for frame movement.
im starting soon thank you this helped alot
why did't you utilize the entire width of the bed?
Is the idea for doing this just better insulation or what?
Fixing water damage
Just built one of these for my Chevy Colorado this weekend, and its great! I went with a narrower 30-inch width, and its very stable and sturdy.
Nice! Glad to hear it. I ended up making another version that was about that wide; great for solo trips. Have fun using it!
looking good, thanks for the tip!
NIce, nothing fancy, quick and very practical. Can't wait to do my own. Thank You .
One, you give next to no useful description.... and who the hell are the kids you mount under your bed????
Thanks really simple easy setup
Hey Tyler- great build! Curious if you have a materials list?
Solid tip! Thanks! 💪🏼
thanks brotha much appreciated
where and how can I customize these wood structure
Thank you, this is what I’m doing now also
Thank you. Paneling my 5th wheel and was looking for what to do when paneling around windows.
Nice video. With the plywood that thick do you need the cross slats? Just drill holes in the plywood to keep the supports in place.
Seams like a good idea, but How does it hold together after you drive your truck over a bumpy road, Do you have to redo Jack, Leo and Geo again? Or it was never meant to be driven off road?
You could probably used thinner wood to reduce overall weight. Especially when you have a support run in the middle.
What did you do for the trim?
Tysm!
Sweet thank you. Going to be my project tomorrow hopefully it’s done in two days
Thank you for sharing! we are remodeling our 5th wheel and need to attach paneling to the aluminum roof so we will have a ceiling 😅😅
Did you make a video of finished bed?
Tyler, thank you. I am taking this on right now. Much appreciated.
This is the type of setup I'm looking for. I need to be able to use my entire bed on the daily, but want something easy to store and easy to put in/take out when headed out. Awesome base to work with! 👍
Thank you for the inspiration. Managed to make a very similar design with your help.
Mini Solar Tip, You can steplessly dim down a bulge and all other hungry electricity consumers with a 5000W dimmer (7, EUR). I run 5 dimmers in parallel on an 850W inverter. Kettle 2.2KW at 150W runs 12 hours a day, so the water is always hot. The room is also nicely heated. 2.5KW washing machine runs in parallel with dimmed to 200...400W. Iron, dishwasher, oven, electric heater, coffee machine, all internal heating are throttled with me. Videos about it on my channel ua-cam.com/video/eC2olbCBhh0/v-deo.html The inverter stays cool, quiet and the MOSFETs remain intact because extreme current peaks no longer arrive at the inverter. Now every Mini PV Inverter is enough to sell large devices...
Great! Can you buy that in a kit?
Not really helpful. Would like to see how the drawers are made
