The F-4s heritage is obvious.

I often see that Bell helicopters with two blades always use bar stabilizer. But helicopter with another brand does not use. Ect Robinson helicopter. Am I right?

USN, 68-74, ETR-2, NAS Miramar, 70-74, GCA tech was my specialty. We had two FPN-36 QUAD RADAR there, as well as an FPN-52, which was the PAR only section of a CPN-4 installed on a hardstand, facing E, the normal approach direction (24L, 24R)

I was there in 71 - 72 and our squadron flew off the USS Coral Sea (CVA-43). If you see an aircraft with "NL" on its tail, it is from the USS Coral Sea. Our squadron flew A-6A, B, KA-6D tankers & EA-6B Prowler. Cheers from eastern TN

A good staring point to learn the facts behind this airplane is BRAB, Burt Rutan's online autobiography. "Progress (or lack thereof) under the guidance of the FAA" is the biggest story here. It's well worth the time needed to make a deep dive on the facts behing this aircraftt because going from an anticipated aeronautical marvel to the biggest fail in modern General Aviation is nothing to ignore. And after all, throughout all of history, when has "authority" ever meaningfully contributed to achieving anything exceptional? Safe to say that "authority" never will, and that visionaries, pioneers, and brilliant engineers are the ones who'll accomplish the achievements which will advance society, not "authority".

Great memories flying while in the Air Force on the Flying Tiger Line DC-8 ("stretch" version) in December 1972 to Clark AFB Philippines. Went from Travis AFB California to Elmendorf Alaska, Yokota AFB Japan, then Clark. Took a C-141 from Clark to my station at Udorn RTAFB Thailand. A great company.

The problem wasn’t that the phantoms couldn’t maneuver but that the pilots wasn’t trained to maneuver the phantoms. However when you had WWII pilots and Dogfighter trained pilots they became ACEs in the phantoms and Dan Pedersen the founder of Top Gun and the other Top Gun phantom pilots took the ratio from 2:1 to 24:1 with the phantoms in Vietnam

That was first aircraft i worked on. We had them at ENGLAND AFB Louisiana. Then we converted to the A-10.
