June 21 Father’s Day
For Father's Day, Frank's grown children bought him a ukulele and uke lessons. When you're 77 it's hard to learn something like playing a musical instrument. But, after two lessons, he's doing, not too bad.
Years ago, when he was a child, he was told by a teacher, that he was tone deaf... Now, proving her wrong after many, many years, shows you really can teach an old Dad, new tricks.

Family Backyard Fun June and July 2002
Interesting alright but the photo's are typical foreigner / tourist stuff. I would have prefered some real life photo's - the ones that were seem very staged so we don't really get a glimpse of what life was really like back then - 10 years before my Dad was even born.
Beautiful thank you so much for posting this. I’m so proud to be Irish ❤️❤️❤️🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
so sad. what did they go through without internet, it's so heart whelming
❤this I'm not Irish, but have a deep ❤for Ireland and the Irish people, beautiful people who know what it is like to live through hard times yet very hospitable and beautiful culture
music is beautiful
Thank you!
Love it. ❤
My great, great, great grandfather was an Irishman I believe from county Cork. He was a Sullivan and migrated to New Zealand and a whaler. We were given a video from a friend of ours showing the remains of their castle and history. It was said that the English, was it Oliver Cromwell? Their murderous escapades almost wiping out the clan owing to their resistance to English sovereignty. We also had a dear a Dermot Childs, now deceased from that same area a wonderful family. Anyway there are plenty Sullivans now, part Maori in Australia as well. Just thought I mention it. Thank you for sharing your video. Arohanui from New Zealand.
Sullivan/Súil Amháin/One Eyed. A big Clann still here in Éire.
My grandfather was a British boy soldier who had a run in with a sergeant and deserted. He was helped by some French people in Ireland. Who knows.
Beauty full. Go raibh mile maith agat. ❤️☘️❤️
Not the earliest photos, I have seen many from 1890
I enjoyed the pictures of the land of my ancestors.❤
That was fantastic! I'm visiting Ireland next summer.
5:11 can anyone tell me which area of galway it might be?
I went in holiday on Ireland,, such a fantastic country. Glad of that travel and decision.
They have small towns with rampaging dinghy divers abusing locals and I particularly young women SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS But Government no longer cares..
Once again poverty was rife. It was the way of life! Where is the comparison? The prostitutes of the mid-West of America. The poor of East End London? Please keep in perspective. All these travel films have little purpose anyway. Just like going to London Zoo or the Looney Bin. You are given a view or a glimpse of those times.
🇩🇪🤗💘
Good to see the movie ,,,my mum often told me of the hardships of her day in the 30,s
What are hardships? Not having a coloured TV in your bedroom? All is relevant.
@@joebloggs2473 ah no dude ,,,,hardships are having no money to feed ur children ,, no electric ,,,,,handed down clothing and shoes,,,no firing ,,,,,and disease like TB and whooping cough killing ur family ,,,,,,relevant is right but life was shorter and harder then
Beautiful. Thanks
Sad that the text ruins the pictures.
This is about the time my Grandma was living in County Mayo. Going to school and getting on with farm work on the Corley farm.
Don't let the picaresque scenes fool you. This was a period of intense revolutionary activity in Ireland, leading up to the 1916 rising, the war of Independence and Civil War..
My grandmother was born in Ireland in 1910 she came to Liverpool with her family in 1914 I wonder what my life would have been like if they had stayed in Ireland, she, was a beautiful dark haired pale skin lady even when she was older she was good looking everyone in my town talked about the family and how good looking we were blessed for sure I have never been to Ireland myself I would love to go she was an O'neill 🙏
Where was she from in Ireland?
What oil company ? I can't hear any thing only loud music
Terrific
Shame the celtic traditional village was knocked down as gas happened everywhere only when they have do we wish we had example to show people nowadays as we live centrally heated houses and apartments..
This was awesome, thank you for sharing it.
A painful pox on all of the fat psychopath bastards who squeezed every mite and all dignity from these fine people with complete detachment. The worst of the grinding poverty has eased but the rich continue creaming the workers.
A vanished world so little like our one yet so near
The last year of peace in Ireland for 10 years
Lovely to look at but times were tough a cruel toughnes both money and food was scarce
Beautiful!!!
The may 29 1913 that’s the day of my b day
My lord, the irish were so poor. Glad to see Ireland is doing much better these days. Absolutely beautiful country, especially the western regions around Galway, mesmerising shades of green, melting into the Atlantic. Good people, nice, hearty food. One can tell that Ireland was built on the blood of the peasants and the fishermen. Smart and witty people, no traces of English arrogance, which is kind of self explanatory. Stay strong and prosper! Much love from Croatia!
most of Europe was equally poor at that time!!
Irish women are way better looking than English. Flat a$$e$ but pretty faces. Thats my 2 cents about Ireland.
"flat"? Is that a misspelling?
Thanks for sharing
Hmmmm uhhhh =
When boobies were not public property....all covered for modesty.

Jesus you can't say coloured anymore, it's picture of colour!
This came up in my recommended and I'm not one bit sorry I clicked on it! Crazy seeing what life was like for our grandparents grandparents in such good detail! A very different Ireland from the one we know now! !
Tough times and even tougher people
Love Galway
South Armagh gang
This is what the British did to the Irish. Now the anti Irish racists can't wait to spit venmon
I spent two years in Ireland. It is really a very beautiful country and the people are great. My favourite place in Ireland us Galway and the Aran Island. We went to the Aran Island by ferry from Galway and stayed there for two days.It was an amazing experience with my friends.I would love to visit Ireland again in future.Respect to the people of Ireland who made it a great country!!
