I used an Apple Watch Ultra and had zero issues with GPS. My GPS was only off by 50 metres throughout the entire course. Comparing it to other runners on Strava using Garmin, they were all over the place.

Yeah this is so relatable. Awesome job! As marathoners we definitely can get settled into slow and comfortable. Getting that uncomfortable speedwork in makes you stronger and makes your longer pace feel easier. But then obviously you have to do easy days easier.

Adding a new stress to each training cycle, have a plan (strategic plan), training speed before going back to the half marathon, upleveling your nutrition, hydration, strength training and mindset and more!

Austin said something similar, but I think it should be "embrace the lows and celebrate the highs." Running will present both, oftentimes in a single run! Embracing the lows means that you know that you can persevere and will become stronger by accepting the lows. Most runs will not be all 'high' and that is totally OK. When the highs do come, celebrate and remember them too knowing that this 'high' is because of the lows that you have triumphed over!
BTW, I often write more thought provoking ideas vs speak them. LOL! Can't think that creatively when speaking... LOL

Love the thoughts on process goals! Reminds me about motivation vs determination (or discipline and developing healthy habits). We're all motivated at times, but we need to learn how to create that determination/discipline. There's a balance to that too because, as I've experienced, life happens and we must adapt to that. It's great when we adapt the process so that we enable ourselves to achieve an outcome. Oh, and to the thought of outcome, I'd recommend that we try to look at this from the big picture. Sure, short term goals are great and necessary, but in the big picture, adapting will be more beneficial to our health (mental, physical, etc.) coupled with that determination to keep moving forward. Great discussion!!!
Oh, this totally plays into my motto of "be(ing) consistent" ["be consistent, express gratitude, and enjoy every mile!"]. Consistently training, always looking to improve, seeking to become your best self, but also being consistent in taking care of yourself so that you can perform when needed and stay healthy along the way.

Great conversation/talking points! Makes me think about building a solid base/foundation through consistency (creating healthy habits), base building (getting better and building endurance simply by running more), and mental fortitude (I've done this before, I can do it again!) etc. The stronger that foundation is, the more we can build upon it to access incremental improvements via speed work, form corrections, etc. Again, great conversation!!!
