Vee Jay 256. You Can Make It If You Try/ Hey, Hey, I Love You. The Rolling Stones would cover this song in 1964. I don't think it had been released in the UK at that point so I imagine they came across it on one of their early US tours.

Norgolde 103. Dead Man's Stroll/ Talking To My Heart. When this 45 was released it had the title "Dead Man's Stroll". Dick Clark had a piece of every small label in Philadelphia and "suggested" it would get more airplay with a title change and so it became "Midnight Stroll".

I have a stereo vinyl version of this album. All but three tracks ("Sleep Walk", "Slave Girl" and "All Night Diner, which are in reprocessed stereo) are in true stereo. The album was printed and plated by Bell/Amy Records in New York.

Mike Bloomfield showed up to the session, heard Robbie Robertson playing and didn’t open his guitar case. He sat at the piano. So, you’ve got Bloomfield faking his way in as a ‘piano player’ like Al Kooper did on Dylan’s Like a Rolling Stone session when he walked in with his guitar, heard Bloomfield playing and said, “hey, I’ve got a great organ part”. Robbie, then a young Turk owned it. Listen to his solo at 1:40 and his playing the outro. And it turns out Misters Kooper and Bloomfield acquitted themselves well.

What caused Danny's fall? was he drunk or was it a pure accidental stumble? stroke? was there a post mortem investigation?

Of course Danny is best known for for his lick on ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK back in 1954. Became a monster hit in 1955. Sadness is he fell down a flight of steps two weeks later. Among guitars players it is still one of the all time best know lick. You,ll hear the lick played but seldom played right. The best to all. 😊😊😮😮🎉🎉😂😂Paul.

The great Danny Cedrone went on to record with Bill Haley and the rest was history. But this little gem may be the beginning of the rock and roll instrumentals.

Frankie Brent was one of those dime a dozen '50s rock and rollers who tried and tried to come up with that hit single that would propel him to fame and fortune, but never came up with it. End of story.

Can you image doing a new version of that show on stations like TNT and USA thanks to cable technology which wasn't around then. They do show some original episodes of Coronet Blue which can be found on UA-cam.

I met Fred Engelberg (correct spelling) in 1970 and never knew he recorded this album until after he had passed on Oct. 14, 2012. In the early 1980s Fred bought a small spa/motel in Desert Hot Springs, California, just a few miles north of Palm Springs. He retired in 2001 and moved to San Marcos. Fred was a filmmaker and script writer and a friend. These songs reflect Fred's interest in the inequalities in our world, RIP.

Thanks for the information. I was mystified that he disappeared. This album was too good. If I recorded it I would have stopped people on the street to tell them that was me. If you know anyone who produces documentaries this is a worthy project.
