Snorkeling in New Zealand and chasing waterfalls
Feeling overwhelmed and crying is normal after having a baby. I remember having a cry two days after having my first baby and I said to my midwife, "What is this,, why am I crying?" And she just smiled at me and said it is normal It truly is a full time job. Some of the heavy emotions is due to hormones and some of it is from feeling like you aren't cared for while you are giving your everything to baby. It does get better especially as Athena grows from stage to stage and it is okay to ask for help. Mothers who are further along the journey of motherhood know exactly how hard it is and will be able to help out in your home if you need that so you can focus on baby and resting. You are doing an amazing job and I like that you said you and Ryan are communicating about all of it and being honest with each other, very important and necessary for a healthy relationship and family life. Bottling up resentment and feeling frustrated breaks relationships.
Where is this waterfall? Stunning! And Athena is so sweet. Your mom looks so content.
Such a special time in a woman's life. Glad you are soaking it all up because it does fly by far too quickly. You always look back on this time with joy in your heart. Athena is perfection! I discovered your channel while looking for people's thoughts on living in America as a New Zealander. I'm originally from South Africa, immigrated to NZ when I was 22 and now I'm 41. Husband was just made redundant and battling to find a new job so we are looking at the USA. Anyway, I landed up looking at the rest of videos as you seem to be a very interesting person and your content is too. So here I am watching one of your videos from 2 years ago and catching up on some of your other videos to see how Athena is doing. 🙂
Love the accent - wish I could lose mine. 13 years and I have a stronger accent lol
10/10 🙏👍🙂
That smile during the first bite is gold lol
Get the wicked wings, they are the best 😋
Interesting this popped up on my feed lol.
We went to kfc in motueka and they had no chicken WTF KFC
dip your dry chicken in the potato and gravy
WTF KFC no burgers
I think you went to the only good kfc in nz. Any i have been to the potato and gravy is 80% gravy and very watery and chicken has a strange taste compared to how it was a few years ago. Also rarely hot. Warm at best. Hot as in temperature
That Lynfield KFC used to be my local, i never went though cause I don't like KFC anywhere when there's other chicken options 😅
KFC used to be good, it is not anymore. Nowhere as near as good. Avoid it.
How long did you take to go back to school after having your baby?
@@SavannahFreeland I took as many classes as I could to graduate earlier so when she was born I didn’t have any more
I am currently 5 months pregnant a couple of weeks away from my first semester of sophomore year in college. Your video has gave me a good peace of mind. Thank you for making this video.
As a kiwi I can agree with you that the government housing and the crime has gotten worse within the last 3 years so I respect the decision to leave.
I admire your courage in sharing your story. I know your inlaws. You are blessed with the best.
And is that my countdown❤
Tell me why there next😂 to our house😂
Yea the rampant crime here is unreal, does not feel safe living here now at all. The gov here is a joke, so many gangs basically running the country.. meth and homeless problem is out of control, police have no backbone here. NZ has gone downhill and I am looking to move.
Going to Wendys and not getting there chili waaaaaaaaa
Came back here for free health care
The free health care my parents worked hard to pay taxes in?
Soo happy You all moved back to good ole USA, thank you.
I dont blame you mama. You do whats right for you and the family ❤
Some kiwis who are not rich, but earning an average NZ income, are still living a comfortable life in NZ, because they do not live in an expensive part of NZ. Some smaller towns and rural areas are ideal places to live, and earning a huge income is not as necessary there. A vehicle isn’t used as often in the small town where I live. Work is within walking distance. Most amenities are available very close to home. Not having to use a vehicle frequently saves a lot of money. Buying clothes from cheaper stores, or op shops also saves money. Living a minimalist life also helps, and makes life happier and better.
New Lynn kfc but why's there a long asf line
Salads, where it's at for no mess n still filling🤍
VERY CLEAN HYGIENIC HEALTHY WORKPLACE + FOOD, VERY ACCOMODATING TO CELIACS, NO EXCUSES FAM! I miss this food! #pitacrew2015
I used to werk! There.. such a mess, i would double wrap for customers free of charge. such an experimental time for the 'pita pit' franchise. i just felt the price was too high for customers to be uncomfortable and unsatisfied. I would go beyond.. if we closed at night, I'd reopen for needy customers. bless them. very grateful. #trivialpitapit
Dam your hot!!!
I was in the supermarket once I was getting some milk from the refrigerator & there was an American looking for something after a few minutes I asked her if she was looking for something she said I'm looking for the eggs seems they out of eggs I said oh we don't refrigerate our eggs the eggs are down aisle 4 she says oh ok & thank you.
So so cool!
Very pretty!
Love it!
Yes i argee housing even tough i am poor i will leve better houseing also amricans are very nice people just not big city very good amrica is one of best countrys good choice
NZ KFC possibly the worst .
I went to drive thru in a lockdown
I 100 percent agree. I have lived in New Zealand for 90 percent of my life and honestly cannot wait to leave forever. Everything is so damn expensive, the education system is horrible and the public schools are just awful, theres been a housing crisis for over 20 years with no sign of improvement and theres barely anything fun to do outside home.
I don't know where you grew up but we were always surrounded by crime and gangs in NZ. It is not safe here. I've been held at gun point for money multiple times.
I really wanted validation as to my memory of KFC in NZ being SO much better than in the UK. This video proves it. Here they have potato, and gravy as separate sides you can get, and I've never seen anyone else except me mixing them and dipping the fries. Truly nothing compares!! Can't wait to go back and have it New Zealand again again!
I love NZ i would never leave i was born here and will die here
I feel you. It's so unlucky that you lived in Auckland, where the cost of living is so high, the crime rate is high, and the most populated city in NZ. If you lived outside of Auckland, your perspective would have been different. We live outside of Auckland, in the lower North Island. We love it here. The world is experiencing cost of living crisis, crimes, etc. not just NZ. NZ is still better than most places in the world. NZ is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. For now we are not going anywhere.
Get those American dollars for your babies to live better it's just a bunch of bogans down here don't worry about it.
I'm an expat Kiwi, and live in Melbourne, and have been here for over 15 years and I will never live there again. I do not like the environment there nor the prices of things there from people who have moved back to Aussie over the years.
Thank you Lizzie - your comments are invaluable.
Try the chicken and chips in mangere
Each to his own, everyone has different needs and wants
I would love to go to Australia and New Zealand! The only drawback is the cost of living and an airline ticket is probably sky high, too! (Excusing the pun!) America is not the safe and blessed country that it once was! It has changed considerably in my 64 years! Crime is rampant and inflation is whiddling away at people’s income!!
heres the thing your talking a tiny pacific island in the middle of nowhere how on earth can you expect it to compete with other countries !!!!!! we have a global workforce now nurses teachers drs trades will go for the highest dollar ,they have pick of so many countries, dont make for a great economy neither does goods being shipped to a dot in the middle of pacific . expectations need to be lowered .
Totally understand that. I think because I was a kid when I grew up there I didn’t think about things like the economy and such. Lived and learned though. Thanks for your input
