Update on putting out homemade deer mineral 2019
Thanks for this, just took mine apart and adjusted it, hopefully it will stay in adjustment now! Mine is nearly new and worked fine for about a month.
Hopefully should. Thanks
Thank you so much for this thorough and understandable post. It's great to be able to get the old machine up and running instead of chucking it out.
Worked great,I had to clean some grease off the inside of the magnet.
Glad it helped. Thanks
My similar Hamilton Beach opener was making a high pitched squealing sound. Just needed 3 in 1 oil on the motor bearing that I could get to.
Nice easy fix.
Thank you. I was about to go buy a new opener when I decided to look up repairing a opener. I have the Hamilton Beach Smooth Touch opener. It did not have a jam nut on it, All I had to do was use a pair of pliers to prevent the whole thing from spinning and just tighten the nut to make the gear get closer. It look like some of the teeth were worn on mind. I guest it will last a little longer before the teeth are worn smooth.
Nice, Thanks
Excellent... however, video moves too much to actually see the gap the way it should be.
@18:39, That's golden. My T650 was always hard to grease right there, I bet those Factory Fkheads didn't align it when they put that bushing in. So pissed off. Rather than taking the bushing out, it should be ok to just drill a hole trough it right?
Yes, you can drill a hole through it, just have to clean out shavings really well.
@@thecreekfarm4761 I tried to, but it seems like hardened steel, so the titanium coated bit wasn't cutting through it. Suggestions?
Thank you! I'm on my third Safety Can in 2 years. I love how it works, but I'm not buying another one. They need to be made better. 😒
Thank you
Ty ty ty searched high an low for any insight before tearing into it. Your Video instantly confirmed Which I suspected to be the cause an eliminated my need to further apply any thought or a second more of my time on the matter. Let alone a penny more to replace. Which if i had i most certainly would have done already. Thanks to being poor and yourself is no longer a possibility. Ty good Sir. A few moments of your time has helped and spared so many the most most valuable thing we have in this life an world TIme. I greatly appreciate your efforts Sir they do not go unrecognized. Ty ty ty
Thank you so very much for your help with this. Your calm and complete instructions are just what I desperately needed. Thank you , Susan
Thank you, glad to help
Good video! I just bought this can opener (Hamilton Beach; they're the same opener). Whenever it needs this adjustment I can refer to your tutorial! Thanks! -- Old Matt
Thank you
Thanks
Thank you
Thanks good instructions
Thanks
Best idea I've seen in fixing one product that about a year ago.
Thank you
I see you got your program back running
LOL yep. Got it going. Thanks bro
Great video! Worked great on a Hamilton Beach can opener. I’d recommend wearing some protective gloves as there is a ton of grease that gets all over your hands.
Glad it worked for that one as well. I run equipment for a living so a little grease doesnt bother me much. Thanks
Hamilton Beach safety can opener is almost identical. Adjusted it twice now - looking for the sweet spot between where the cutting wheel is too far from the can rim to make a cut and so close that it also crushes it and produces gobs of metal shavings. Thanks!
Laughed out loud at that comment. Sometimes hard to find. Hope you find it. Thanks
I have three of these can openers & They all worked OK at first but after a few operations they stopped working. I was going to throw in the bin but now I will have ago at adjusting first. Thanks mate
Thanks, had 2 myself one for back up had to do this to both and both work fine now. Hopefully works for you.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to show this video I'll pay you second visit once I fix mine appreciate it
Thanks, hopefully works for you
Instead of buying a New Opener, I will be going to my trusty work bench and attempt to repair. I was ready to toss it and thought I would check out UA-cam. Found You...Thank You so much!!!
No problem. Hope it works for you
Good job
Thank you
Thanks for the video, mine cuts like new now.
glad to help
Also with mine, the lower cutting wheel did not spin freely as it should, was stuck, with sticky soup. Had to clean and oil, then it worked! Your video really helped me to know to adjust the nut in the back of my Hamilton Beach 76606Z (well actually in this model they upgraded the nut to a finger adjusting nut, and then it locks with a regular nut). Thank you.
Nice glad it helped.
Thank you for sharing this knowledge. Getting ready to do mine on a T450
Hopefully helps. I actually need to do this to mine again already.
Well, you certainly provided excellent detail, enough for me to give it a try. I was lucky enough to find an 8mm wrench in my stash. I elected to stabilize the shaft movement by holding unto the large gear wheel with a heavy pair of gloves instead of using a needle nose or stripping wrench on the bottom nut. No cans need opening today, but I'm feeling optimistic. 😃
I have faith. Thanks for the reply. Hopefully works out for you, it should, worked for me.
Can't wait to try it!
Appreciate the help. My can opener now works.
Awesome, glad to help
We tried this fix. I was sooo encouraged reading the comments. But alas it did not work. It now starts and moves a bit and appears to work immediately slows down then totally stops. Sad…
Sorry to hear that. Thanks for checking out. Sounds like possibly a motor problem
Thank you, sir. You saved my mom some money.
Glad to help
Thank you so much for posting this video! This fixed my issue with the Safety Can Express. My wife was ready to buy a new can opener. I grew up on a farm fixing whatever we could when possible.I was happy to fix our can opener with this simple fix. I'm very glad I found your video!
Glad to help
Awesom! Made the adjustment like you said to the opener works better than when I bought it. Thanks.
Glad it helped
Your video saved me from buying another can opener! Thank you so much for teaching this 69 yr old lady she can still fix things!
Glad to help.
Thanks for sharing. Doesn't look fun but I need to do it on my S250 Turbo HighFlow.
Thanks for the reply. Not much fun but gets easier every time. Just finished for the third time on my T590. Good luck.
@@thecreekfarm4761 How many hours are they worth?
Depends on how much you use you machine. I use mine daily, so they wear out quicker probably than most that dont use as much.
Thank you! This worked for me! I appreciate you making this video.
Glad it helped.
Thank you for the video. I was just gonna order a new one Amazon when your video came up in my search. You just saved me 30 something dollars. Thank you. I also just subscribed 👍👍
Glad to help. Thanks
Great video, worked perfectly. The double hex nuts were the only difficult part but you explained it excellent. Keep posting.👌🏻
Yep, those nuts are a little thin for a normal wrench. Thanks for the nice comment
Thanks for the video! I knew there had to be a way to fix mine.
Thanks, glad to help
Jon Today 2/9/2023 The plus with the grease fitting is easy to remove using a grease gun
Yes, I had discovered that after the fact. Thanks
You mean it can be pushed out by greasing after clip is out?
I think so but I didnt dot that way was just trying to cut down on the grease mess. Thanks
Great Info.
Thanks
Thank you you explain so clearly. You did a great job . Now im going to go fix my can opener.
glad to help
Fantastic! Take a bonus out of petty cash. Worked perfectly! Only had a little difficulty getting those nuts to move because of not having wrenches quite the right size or thickness. This job would take about 10 minutes (tops), if you have a set 8 millimeter wrenches that are thin enough to get a good grip on those two nuts.
Thanks. And yes those nuts are a little thin.
thanks a lot. this video solved my problem.
Glad it helped. Couldnt find any to help me so I made this one to help others. Thanks for the reply.
I tired had to go back in an make several adjustments and still no luck it didn't work. So I threw it in the trash
Sorry to hear that.
Thank you! I was going to junk it but now it's working again you made four cats very happy Sir!
Thanks, glad to help. I have 2 and did to both and they work great again.
Thx
Thanks for watching, hope it helped
Thanks - ours is doing the same thing - I’ll try this.
we have two of them and both doing the same thing and fixed them both. Good luck.
Thanks for the tips and tricks of pin and bushing replacement. Your time putting this together is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, hope it helped. I had trouble figuring it out and couldnt find anything to help so thats why the video. Thanks.
Hopefully, this will fix mine. Thank you!
Hopefully will worked like a charm on mine. Thanks for watching.
