Great sales! My two highest sells of 2024 was a For Love and Lemons dress & a Tory Burch blazer both for $200.

My best sales 2024 collectible doll $1699 , 2nd another doll $799, 3rd Burberry shoulder bag $299, 4th red wing boots $299, 5th maje over the knee boots $299, 6th macduggal Dress $299 , 7th elvie Breast pump $299, 8th $299 Alemais dress , 9th $299 Aje dress ,10th Brooks brothers jacket $259

December was my worst month last year, usually that is not the case! But other months that historicall stink were very good, so it was just wonky all over. Yay the boots sold!!

My best sale of 2024 were a vintage pair of Ralph Lauren Country 100% leather Fringe Pants. Found them at the thrift for $7 sold them on Poshmark for $300.

Love your videos. Sure hope you didn't get the latest boutique by the box nobody's perfect brand name shoes cause it's THE WORST imaginable. I got 3. 😢

My highest sale for 2024 was a l’agence blazer for 229. COG was 27? Pretty good profit margin but it did sit with me for more than a year before someone picked it up. I have had lowball offers throughout the year that I am glad I didn’t bite 🙏🏻 hope to see more great sales for you this year!

Did you check the sale thru rate or comps before buying those items? Hardly any of those I would have picked up, so not surprised that none sold quickly. And Judy Blue is still good but sell thru rate is going down along with price. Larger sizes are definitely best. What is your fav mystery box?

My highest sale was a men’s suede J.Crew Jacket NWT. Sold for $400 on Poshmark. I got it in a BBTB J.Crew/Madewell flaw box. My COG was $3.60!

I also got a pair of Schutz tall boots in a Helpsy box. Mine had a scuff on the toe. They sold for $110. But my highest sale was a J. Crew pink velvet blazer for $150.00

My highest sales in 2024: there are 2 Reformation dresses I sold for $145 each. Reformation is always hit or miss. Also a total random sale of a professional flat iron called pretty in a minute. Picked it up at GW for $9 and it sold for $135. I love the random ones that we have no expectations and they sell for high! Happy selling everyone!😊💰💵

Congrats on great sales! My highest selling item was a NIB discontinued, vintage fountain pen ink. $3 into $150! Sold in less than a week. I'm a clothing reseller mostly, but something about the package seemed special. So glad I picked it up!

Great video! Most of the time, I think I do better profit-wise when I'm out thrifting and hand-pick the items (especially since I'm an 'everything' seller)- however- I 100% agree that most of the time it's SUCH a time-sink and you have to be out for several hours, several times a week to find good inventory. For me right now, I'm doing a pretty even split of sourcing and ordering boxes, especially since I don't love sourcing as much as most resellers. 😆

I have had zero luck with mystery boxes. The two I bpught from Helpsy were worthless. Out of 40 pcs I was able to list 4 and only 1 has sold. Boutique by the box has nicer items but I am still in the red on every box. Some Pieces have sold some need listed and some are sitting. The things I pick up thrifting seem to sell faster but it's hard for me to thrift regularly because of location. I am retired so I don't rely on reselling for living. More for extra.

I ordered my first mystery box from Helpsy and am a bit concerned because most items are smaller sizes. My cost was $6.27 per item. So far sold one in less than a week. I don’t think I will get more than $25 for the better pieces but there are quite a number of simple t-shirts and sleeveless items that might only sell for $12 to $15. I am used to buying at a Thrift Store items for $1 and selling for $15 to $40. But, I don’t really enjoy thrifting… so have to see 😅

I have to disagree with you on the size. I got my granddaughter a size 10 coat. She is nine and typically girls are smaller than boys and this thing barely fit the seven year old. Was it mismarked? I don’t know it looked big enough to me. And I have purchased so many thrift items for my grandkids that have ended up to be too small, even though it said their size. And I’m the same way like I can wear a size 14 pant and I can wear a size 16 pants and there has been times where I had three sizes in my closet and they all fit me. I measure and show all the measurements with the clothes that I sell. Now I’m not the type of reseller like you guys all are but this is what I do because you have to. My mother made clothes for me all my growing up. I always had homemade clothes and she measured me every single time she made my clothes. She measured across my shoulders. She measured around my waist she measured down my arms. Everything was measured.

I buy the torrid blazers new and they often only cost $36 after discounts, and there are always so many color options nowadays, whereas a couple years ago it would have been rarer.

Enjoyed this video. I loved that you discussed the cost of your time and you added it to your cost of your goods sold. I like to thrift for my personal clothing and I pick up items to resell but there is no way you can scale a business thrifting. Doing it for pure enjoyment is one thing but as a business there are much better ways to source inventory.

I love watching people’s thrift haul and always make it a point to do a thrift run when I am actually close to one (the closest goodwill outlet is more than an hr out by driving). With that being said, as a part time reseller I also don’t find thrifting profitable. I love the thrill of treasure hunting and picking up pieces at a low COG but that requires so much time, which a lot of part time resellers don’t have. I got inspired and conducted a similar experiment and yielded very similar result. Thanks for the video and i can’t wait for the new thrift 90 day update!

Honestly I’m shocked that these are the best brands you can find living outside Atl. I only thrift in person and in one trip, which I drive 45 mins for, I can get 30-60 items. High quality name brand items. I guess location really is such a crucial piece to this reseller gig!

I do appreciate this experiment for sure as I rarely purchase mystery boxes anymore. It may be worth it to do a reverse experiment with mystery boxes that includes your time to manage the damaged or stale pieces. This is where I feel like my time gets lost with the undesirable pieces in the boxes. The time to delist and relist several times, take them out of inventory to donate, which includes driving time, or put ThredUp boxes together, drive to BST stores hoping they take the pieces, etc. I think there is a lot of time we spend for any way we get inventory on something. I never seem to have enough time! 😅 Thanks for your great videos!

I resell part time and am of the complete opposite mind of you. I have tried mystery boxes and do not think they are worth the cost of goods.. mainly because of the over saturation issue. I love handpicking my items. The thrill of the hunt is what makes it worth it to me. That said, I do think it’s great that you’re sharing this side like this, it just proves that Reselling is not a one size fits all job. Anyone can do it, any way they want to. Definitely a fun experiment to watch!

This was a really fun experiment. I do a lot of mystery boxes too with occasional thrift trips mixed in. It was nice to see the numbers and sell through.

I was recently permanently suspended after a couple years on Depop. I cross list and list on ebay first. I sell electronics, clothes and collectibles. Over the last couple years I've had items taken down because Depops bot said they were counterfeit (definitely was not). I also had a couple listings taken down because I crosslisted electronics (cameras) which are not allowed. The suspension came over a MLB Replica Ring. I clearly stated that it was a replica and it was listed for $15 or so. I received the suspension and sent an email stating my case. They responded in a day and said there is nothing I can do they basically need to protect the platform and I can never sell on there again. My sales were highest on eBay, then Depop, Poshmark and Mercari. What I learned: be very clear on what is allowed to post. The cameras may have counted against me. I would have also have sent an email after items were flagged as counterfeit so their was a papertrail. Finally, knowing what I know now, I would not have posted the replica ring. After a week, Depop sent me an email asking if I was happy with their customer service and if my problem was resolved. I hope this information is useful to someone.

I used to buy lots of mystery boxes , but now I mainly source my self, pick and choose my poison, I usually do better with my thrifted items then with mystery boxes, I usually sell my thrifted items within a week or a month max, your experience is put to play and nothing beats your knowledge of brands and styles that sell.

YES - Lafayette 148! Definitely doesn’t always bring what you expect. I had a blouse and on the tag the retail price was $448…..struggled to move it for “cheap” - under $75.

Wow! CD shoes are so cool! And they’re my size. FYI, I’m pretty sure Paul Green’s sizing is a little different so you might want to include a size chart in your listing. I’m a size 7 and I think my Paul Green shoes are 4 1/2.

I would love to see a video regarding your experience with TU Premium. I did it once and I guess did ok but my only issue is that there’s still a limit to how long the items stay on the site. Whereas, RR seems to keep items listed until they sell. They get discounted over time but at least you get something. In my experience, higher end items just take longer to sell so I’d like to see TU extend the time for premium items to at least 6 months. I have several high end items I’m considering sending to RR or TU. A Marni dress, Clare V. Purse, Longchamp purse, and several Lafayette 148 items.

What a great haul! Would love to see a 90 day update on these:-) I like that your Goodwill has a blanket price on most things. Our Goodwill prices things all over the place. There is also a black tag section that has the higher end items and prices those items up super high.Some of the things they put in that section aren’t even worth much,like PAC Sun or Shein. We do have good sales on the color of week,though.Thursday and Friday is 30% off that color,Saturday and Sunday is half off and Mondays are $1.99 for that tag. The black tag section is rarely on sale,though. They might do a 25% off that section,maybe once or twice a year. The prices in that section are EBay priced or higher to begin with,though, so I’ve never bought in that section. I’ve found Betabrand,once at a St Vinnies for $4. They were a yellowish orangish color. They took about 4-6 months to sell but sold for $29,I think. We’re allowed to look on the new racks but I try to do it when the workers aren’t around, so I’m not in their way.

Great haul! Thrifting is so fun🌷I like selling pants and jeans. Easy to list and they sell fast on PM for me. Yes this is a great time to thrift. I also found great jeans and black pants in June July in AZ it’s 120 degrees in summer here so no one is looking to wear jeans or black pants. 😅
