I was in Lafayette 2 weeks ago for the first time, visiting on busness from London. I really enjoyed the town, it has a great vibe, super friendly, lovely people. Amazing coffee at Reve and opposite, the best pizza I ever ate outside of Italy at Jim Deggy's!!

Lafayette is a Gem. I used to always plan on spending a day there when I used to travel between Houston, Texas and Birmingham, Al. Wonderful food and wonderful people. I'm fixing to retire soon and am strongly considering the Lafayette area to finish out my time on this earth.

I been away from home for 15 years. Eventually, Ill move back. Lafayette definitely has a place in the heart. It has grown alot but not quite there yet.

I use to live in Lafayette Louisiana for 15 years went to New Iberia senior high then Acadiana high school. Lafayette does have a good culture & good food arguably the one of the best in the nation my opinion. The only thing that drove me away from Louisiana especially acadiana was its to close knit you gotta know people to get a job and to open up a business too. I moved back to my home state of Texas back in 2022 and living in the DFW area has been the best decision I ever made.. living in Louisiana felt like I was living in backwards time.. Texas is soo much better I don’t get the hype why Lafayette Louisiana is growing I don’t see it in my opinion

I recommend you google "Economy at a Glance - Lake Charles" and "Economy at a Glance - Lafayette" to get better numbers on these cities. Lake Charles had an unemployment rate of 3.1% in April when this video premiered which was lower than Lafayette's 3.3%. Also, I think the metro numbers would paint a better picture of both places.

Having been throughout both cities, Lafayette is a much safer place to live and has plenty of things to do. Traffic is much better, fewer homeless, less crime and you can get to anything in about 15 minutes. There have been many times I felt like I was in danger in Baton Rouge. I’ve never felt that way in Lafayette and lived there for 6 years.

I lived in both - Lafayette is more fun, safer, and has better food and better roads...but now I live in Mandeville on the North Shore... also, Baton Rouge separating into 2 parts....people with money are tiered off their taxes are not going where they need to go to.

Tech I just got a job over there. Denatal is getting huge as far as tech and I got hired and moving my family out there the 31st. We are moving from Los Angeles to Lafayette can’t wait

I like the Creole Cuisine in Lafayette but Baton Rouge has a more vibrant night life. I hate the traffic in both cities. In Baton Rouge it's usually backed on I-10, near Port Allen and in Lafayette, the lights sit on red way too long and they do not have a freeway to bypass the traffic. They've also gotten rid of the turning lane on N. University Ave, causing unnecessary traffic jams.

I’ve lived in Scot and a few other in south Louisiana. I prefer the north like West Monroe area where I’m at now lot better to raise your children and more rule, country slower area
