Still City: The Shadow Lounge Documentary
Before the advent of outside investors and people rolled through the East Liberty area of Pittsburgh and changed the fabric of the neighborhood dramatically, there lived a vibrant community of visionaries, advocates, artists, and entrepreneurs who created a cultural hub unseen by the masses in Pittsburgh. Native 412 proudly presents a thoughtful and heartfelt documentary segment about the Shadow Lounge, which represents 1 of 17 mini-documentaries to encapsulate a major film project called Still City. The Shadow Lounge is long gone, yet the impact of this one venue still resonates to this day.

There’s a lot of videos from Pittsburgh realtors on UA-cam that paint the burgh as an up and coming happening place. This is the first video that really portrays it as it actually is. Glad I moved away from that gray, bleak and miserable hellscape 20 years ago.
I grew up in Pittsburgh. All I remember was sunny days mostly. I never and still don't think of it as an overly gray climate. Was just back there two weeks ago. Both sunny days as well. Maybe people are just inherently gray and negative so that's what they focus on. It's sure not Scotland or the northwest US.
