Baldur's Gate 3 Soundtrack - Purging Crèche Y'llek
I've been struggling to find this OST online even with the official tracks being released, so I thought I would upload it. I do not own this. This particular track plays during the start of the mission while talking with the Gith scientist before reappearing at the end during the escape from the Crèche itself.

    Yes, this score is very calming, but to me it also feels melancholic. Every living generation of Githyanki people alive today have never known peace. They were enslaved, they fought for their freedom from their Ghaik masters, only to then be manipulated into serving under a false monarch who basically enslaved the entire race to follow her every demand. Their culture has evolved into one where the only way in which you are allowed to exist is if you are willing and able to kill anything your superiors tell you to without question. The location in which this particular creche resides is therefore rather ironic, given that it was once a monastery. Once, it was a place for meditation and worship, where pilgrims would come from across Faerûn to leave offerings and feel at peace. Now it has become occupied by a people who have never known respite, and they use its shelter only in preparation to bring further bloodshed. Dare I say, the only signs of love in that creche are from your party. One githyanki egg is days away from being destroyed, but you have the choice to take it away from its cruel future. A young githyanki fighter in training is being punished for not wanting to take a life, but you can step in and save him from a needless death. Attempting to use the Zaith'isk to remove your parasite could put your life in jeopardy, and nearly all of your companions can see the danger and many show genuine concern for your wellbeing. When you look at the githyanki race as a whole it is important to remember that in their culture the concept of acknowledging love and showing empathy towards another is taboo, to say the least. You can’t change their ways, but at the very least you can make a start in the right direction.💕

      I love how you connected this theme to the overall quest and experiences felt at the Creche. For me, this theme makes me think of Lae'zel and her inner turmoil during and after the Creche quest. If you help her see the truth and rebel against Vlaakith, her soul is crushed, heartbroken even. It feels like an ambience that captures Lae'zel's mental state after the Creche, the peace she probably feels with trustworthy companions, and the beginning of her growth.

      @@traive-alastor I think the first time i really appreciated going through the creche and experiencing everything was in my most recent playthrough, where ive been trying to make the best decisions that save the most amount of lives, innocent or otherwise. I’m currently at the creche and just went through the purification machine without Lae’zel being present, also decided to listen to my companion the first time they showed concern and the whole thing felt a lot more emotionally bonding than previously when i first did it and tried to go all the way. This time around im not using any illithid powers so idc about becoming awakened. Ironically when I was in the machine Astarion was the one who spoke up and said I couldn’t handle it and I needed to get out of there. In my next option I chose to audibly call out for help and in response he started yelling at the doctor basically saying “what’s wrong with you, turn off the machine right now” and so on. For someone who acts so aloof and careless of other’s wellbeing it was actually very wholesome and made me see Astarion in a deeper way as well. Compare that to Lae’zel and people will mostly see someone who doesn’t care about me since all she does is encourage it. I actually disagree though. I see her encouragement for you to keep pushing through it as her way of caring. She wants you to become healed, and she is confident in your physical and mental strength so she knows you are capable of doing it. On a personal note tho, as someone who often romances Astarion at least a little bit, I loved seeing him be so attentive to my Tav, showing genuine fear and concern in them. The only other time I saw that was when he didn’t want me to drink the blood lady’s potion because he “didn’t want to see me get hurt.” Cut back to Act 1 when he was cheering me on as i was getting whipped by someone’s weird fetish towards their Goddess of Pain.😅😂

      @@RedAngelXV No, don't stop! I liked reading this essay 😂 In my current playthrough, My Tav and Lae'zel are very close. Like they went from fling to best friends. When we get to the Creche, I personally found a lot of flaws and faults with the Githyanki and how they were treating Lae'zel and the party. It felt weird to me because Lae explained how ruthless and aggressive they are towards outsiders yet, they were disorganized and desperate when we get to this quest. Fast forward to the purification machine and the doctor's explanation sounded odd. But I let Lae'zel purify herself first and cheered her on with her purification until the Guardian forced her out of the machine. The climax of this quest for me was fighting the Inquisitor with her after exposing how the Githyanki were lying to her. The music, the stakes at hand, Lae'zel's world being broken apart and making her choice, it is one of my favorite moments in the game. The escape from the Creche and her interactions during the Long Rest is one of my favorite cutscenes, especially if you let her choose how she wants to handle Voss. It's in that moment where she starts breaking away from the lies and deception of Vlaakith and show her true colors: a passionate and straightforward warrior. My Tav helping her discover the truth and rebell against Vlaakith is legendary for me. I won't deny though, her catfight with Shadowheart during one of the camp interactions had me rolling. 😂Like girl talks all of that shit to Shadowheart and got destroyed without a chance. Honestly caught me off guard and had me laugh for a good while after the drama that was the Creche quest

    So if you kill Hunter instead of listening to her dribble, does that prevent Ardun Kothe from wanting you as a Double Agent? Just wondering 'cause that happened on one of my agents. But I was also dark 1 so maybe that was also the issue.

    • @jessiebuffy
      @jessiebuffy 5 років тому

      I saved his team but killed Hunter on the spot. Being Dark 1 might have been the reason. I got emails from Ardun giving her updates on what he has uncovered. So it's an exchange of information between each other. I scratch your back, you scratch mine type of relationship without the double agent part. I hope they bring him back in the new expansion for agents who didn't kill him.
