I saw someone using this idea, but they didnt use the roll bar as a block. I had thought of this idea a while ago, but i never tried it. Finally got around to it, it took two attempts, mainly bescuae you have to steer so much to keep the strap in the center of the tire. Just a little tip i thought id share. Hope you enjoy!!

Nice❤
Cool af like damn!
Should just use the bed as shock mounts
If I may, pretty sure your putting tools in bucket like that on controls so you can demonstrate what not to do in these videos hopefully. Because get drill bit and whole in your leg like the pole and bleed out in 2 minutes. Dead. Tools loose parts around control handles. A fall on those below you, operator. And or get stuck bringing yous into multiple phase flash electrocution because controls are stuck. Or pushing into pole crushing the fiber glass bucket with yous in it hoping the phases stay where they are. Pole falling down on pole truck operator, phase flash electrocution melting him and truck. Which has happened to melt trucks. Hopefully he's fast enough to jump off Besafe
Recommend on emergency rain jobs, where your gloves on inside of sleeves... Also wear harness under rain gear. Because it will track and bite you...
Cantilever suspension wouldn't work for the flatbed setup?
Where are there rubber gloves very poor example of safe work practices look at greg kinney
Nice work 👍
2 guys in the bucket for single phase?.......
simple but very usefull for mud guard, i should try this too, thanks for share great tips man👍👍👍
Working high. Eye level when gloving. Easy bad habit to get into.
Great effort it came out very well
next time do keep your gloves on for putting that arm on. just some constructive criticism
i wish i could drill holes that strait. stay safe line brother 👊
Good job.. even better tutorial then gcm
Good work
Great idea bro thanks. 👍👍👍
You guys need be thankful that company gave you the opportunity to work. Alot of guys apply and don't get hired. Alot of com[panies want you to do the work before you get hired,. they want you to get your CDL before they'll hire you. Alot of guys don't have a way to do that, so they don't get hired. You guys make good money, get to be outdoors, get to do something exciting for a living, so you need be very thankful that company gave you the opportunity to do that work. Alot of guys want to do the work, yet they're unlucky, don't know anyone within the company, and don't get hired. The best way to get hired into a company is by knowing someone affiliated with the company. Seriously, A Dominion Energy worker I spoke to while doing tre work was an arrogant fucking prick. He was arrogant because he makes all that money working around powerlines. Don't be arrogant, be grateful that company gave you the shot and pays you that 25 dollars an hour.
let me tell you there's a lot of arrogant people no matter the trade. in our trade where lifes on the line you kinda get to talk that crap most people dont get to talk lol but one things for sure we are all grateful to have gotten the opportunity and grateful to make it back home at the end of the day. most importantly the lineman are grateful to make it through the apprenticeship and be JY. on the other hand theres plenty of place to get hired on you just got to get out of your comfort zone and be willing to move states to make it in like me and a wave of people from my state do.
I saw a linecrew working one day. First off, I worked as a communications lineman for 3 years and applied at several powerline contractors, but never got hired. I noticed with the one crew I watched, the guy kept the bucket far away from the pole and had to lean far out to work the line. They were doing crossarm replacements. I also read about one guy tripping over something in the bucket and falling into the line face first. I'd want my bucket far enough away from the line so NOTHING could possibly happen. Sure I'd be reaching and stretching a bit more, yet there'd be no possibility of something stupid happening. Something stupid happening is when someone dies, such as the COOP worker who picked up the line that was on the ground because he thought it was dead. Something stupid is like my coworker jigging fiber optic cable thru a slack span in a tree. The power was slacked WAYYY down because no downguys could be used, and if we sagged our line with the power, a kid would have been able to jump up and touch our line. He contacted 19,900 volts and it was the end of his life and the end of that truck being in service. I got the truck retired after using it and bumping the joystick with my leg and it moved without pressing the thumb safety. My asshole foreman cut my pay , but we got a brand new leased truck, a brand new one. All because I wouldn't work on equiipment that may be fucked up. My foreman would have, but not me.
Videoer. 👍👍
Cool
Hope it looks coll
Not bashing your work at all brother. But when y'all untied that field phase Imo it would've been better to go up under it and out past the phase. That way when you went to untie it you woundnt have had your side/back all over/near the pole like y'all did. All it takes is one pin hole in your glove An the back of your shoulder to brush up against the pole or something else and that's all she wrote.
Never seen spec like this before. Where you out of?
Bad habit to come out of your rubbers. Also, split blankets are great, but cover the FULL end of the arm! No point in ur rubber if you're leaving potential exposed. Also, why not just hang the arm on the gain side instead of notching the pole out?
How did you weld it?
Brilliant. This may solve my issue of my race car getting stones lodged between the steering arms and the chassis causing my steering to lock up. This may be the answer.
Good job.
That's an amazing idea. Anyone still doing this have any info on how well they hold up? Those bowls are usually pretty rigid, meaning they crack easily.
Good job. Love the video
Nice. Found your video after seeing the GCMracing1 one. I have used Dollar Store sandwich containers when building interiors.
The most brilliant ideas are always the simplest! I've known Chris and Dana over at GCM for a few years.... Their channel is a wealth of information!! This is definitely a great idea! 👍👍😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This is what the hobby is all about thx for the idea thats not yours. Your honesty was cool to hear and they look good. Do the function well?
cool idea, i might try something similar
Wow, never thought about doing it that way. Thanks for the idea!
Appreciated the video! Great job!
those orange slab things , there are alot of those on my street here in Montreal
Don't show your work on the internet, if the wrong management boss sees it you got problems coming your way.
how big around?
Great idea.
True PROFESSIONAL. make it look easy.

I'm going to do this, this is sick
That's a hell of a good idea!!👍👌very cool thanks for the tip!!👍😃
Why would you ever take your rubber gloves off working on a pole with energized conductors present? That's how accidents happen.
Nope, just a safe lineman.
Did you really need a digger truck to pick up #4 wire? Tell your company to invest in a few material handlers with jibs. Why did you take your rubber gloves off to put the arm on? That's a big no no where im from. Put the bolt through the arm first and then the pole, you guys are just making things way harder then they should be. It's like when i see people put a double arm up and they tighten the da's on the first arm and then try to slide the second arm over all 3 bolts at the same time, it's fucking retarded. Good luck and be safe, keep those rubber gloves on.
or why not just float it or tie it down.... or put a pole mounted hot arm up there to hold it? much rather do that than set up a line truck. About the rubber glove removal in the primary....If its covered, a lot of companies allow "up to, but not touching the rubber".
u make wire dead and cover it whit rubber ower there ? for safety
TheAnimeProducations No. The wire stays hot. The rubber is to provide a layer of insulation that you avoid contact with unless you have rubber gloves on.
on training for "cold" work atm :] for "hot" work i need to have experience + special training for it in Finland
nice. good luck out there with your training!
THAAANK YOU!
You didn't hang the arm in rubber gloves.
How did you mount the flatbed? Thanks
very nice and safe job keep that up stay safe friends
very nice
