I've had a few close encounters over the summer due to the thick undergrowth, this fella in particular was very lucky as I couldn't see him through the scope even though I could see him in the thermal, only thirty yards away.

A perfectly still, humid, overcast evening, plenty of flies and midges about and pretty difficult conditions to creep about in. Nice to be out though.

This dog fox was responsible for taking several chickens and a farmyard goose at the farm near where I shoot. The first night I was out he appeared ten yards in front of me beside the farm building and caught me off guard and disappeared without a trace.
