I love the fact that while most of the soldiers there were scared, but there was the one guy who just screamed out "fuck you!!" at the storm, funny as hell. Also, the sound of the tornado itself, just the pure roar of it, it's just insane. Rest in peace to the 21 who's lives were cut short that fateful day...
I was living in Palmer Woods in Detroit. Trees were falling everywhere blocking the streets. We had to climb over fallen trees to get anywhere
I grew up in Wichita and remember seeing this on the news it was crazy
7:40 das a cloud
Thank you for the memories
😢😢😢
Analog horror tornado be like
that shot of the water tower with it is amazing
Interesting headline about Jarrell, TX that popped up. I can only assume that it's related to the infamous Jarrell tornado that would have occurred just days before this aired.
If it was the Army, everyone would be on extra duty because the buildings weren't secure...
Lmao Veteran storm chaser Howard Bluestein snd he looks younger than me in this video.
maybe people should drive away if they see a toranado going towards their house
This video scared the shit out of me and sparked my interest for tornadoes when I was a little kid. Living in Europe tornados seems so scary and at the same time so fascinating and surreal. Have not seen this video for about 20 years now. Found the place on Google Earth. Seems like the building they filmes from have been demolished.
Get this man a pair of pants
This was the same storm system that hit DFW airport. My Dad's airplane took off minutes before the storm hit. Scary times.
I hope Andy and Susan have been buying lottery tickets.
If that debris hits you, it's lethal, and you're dead.
One of the craziest looking tornadoes
amazing footage!!
At the beginning, that guy had the most Canadian response to a big wall cloud dropping a big tornado.
"That's the tail, down there." Dude that's not a tail that's a whole body
Pardon my French. But get me the F@#K out of this SH@thole!!!
That's back building so it's gonna be massive
Thanks for posting.
I rank this tornado at 41 all time would of been worse if it hit a bigger population
Holy sheeet….i can’t believe I’ve never seen any of this footage. Awesome stuff
It’s just sitting there means it’s coming at You!! TAKE COVER NOW!!
15:27 that is wild. Absolutely incredible the sheer power of tornadoes.
Incroyablement majestueux 😂merci pour le partage
The end tho is literally the tornado from the Wizard Of Oz
I was 12 years old living Omaha (Westmount) Nebraska) when this dropped
Ole Andy has an EF-5 barreling down on him and he wants to get his weather alert out of the truck! "Susan get my pants" This guy has to be related to EF-5 legend Clem Schultz! Tornado is 125 yards away and "it's awful damm windy" NANCY, will ya please grab me the Tylenol and a beer sweetheart.
Talk about nightmares, you keep coming out of your house to see if it's gone and it's like HELLO JOE. love those feeding vortices as its still a mile or two off
Bob Murray ftw!
Part of Janet Jackson's "Control" was playing at 11:12. (Jan Griffiths).
I looked up Andy Olmer and Susan out of curiosity and it looks like they both got arrested for tax evasion a few years after this. He went to jail for 10 months, and she only got house arrest (typical). If you needed more reasons to hate the IRS, there you go.
Why is that wind so wildly quick, if there is no feather prepared to be glued at the scenery?
Woah I’ve seen the police camcorder footage dozens of times but never knew there was almost a twin tornado!
Beautiful
Andy, "Susan get my pants!" Susan, "Why?" Andy, "So I can shit in them!"
Fantastic, I've never seen this video before!
Is this the case where if you can't tell which way it's going, it's coming right at you?
_[Long despairing sigh]_ ". . . Shit."
Good video. Maybe a little less repeating of words and sentences throughout the first part. But great footage nonetheless. 🌪️
This is insanely rare footage of a dead man walking tornado you can see it at 29:58 😮
around the 5:40 mark is where that famous picture of this tornado was taken
Tornadoes before 9/11 still had their pride
That was epic ! That guy filming wasn't going to go anywhere, thank you sir.
The first tornado filmed in the United States
looks evil!
love the colors
