This was a very good series. It did start out slow and is completely different from the roles that he’s played in the past. It is a beautiful drama about overcoming the past, seeing past fault and finding the beauty of love in most unlikeliest ways.

I think part of the disappointment a lot of people feel could be because of the anticipation, excitement and certain expectations created by themselves in their own mind. Kill Me Love Me was better in the first half with the plot falling weak at mid-end with the last couple episodes being good again. And the ending was a good happy ending as far as Cdramas go in my opinion. Ultimately I think it was good. There’s a slight disappointment with some of the plot getting lost in the last 10-15 episodes but otherwise it wasn’t that bad. But also I didn’t have any expectations. I never waited for this drama to release and I don’t wait for any dramas and I don’t watch dramas unless they already have all episodes released. The period of waiting opens a space where the mind starts creating expectations which are likely to be disappointed. The longer the wait the bigger the expectation and the higher the disappointment. When I chose a drama I make sure all episodes are already available and then I watch it in marathon pace. Sometimes watch a couple different drama each week. I watched all KMLM in 3 days. It was not perfect and there was a lot extra that mess it up a little but all in all it was good and I give 7/10 stars ⭐️ And I notice a lot of people who comment saying they dropped it after only a few episodes. I think anyone who watch only a few episodes and then comment on it is just ridiculous. To be fair the first episode has the really hot kiss scene and no other episode have anything like that so the screen writers, crew staff , director set a really high standard with the first episode and they should have waited a little longer for hot steamy kiss scene and definitely could have had more to keep up the pace.

Hi and new to your channel. I think I agree with most of what you're saying.. I'm new to the genre and yes I thought it started slowly and almost dropped it but went back and I was glad I did. I LOVED the character of Shen Du.. handsome and expressive face. I think the female lead could have been more expressive... Yes sometimes it seems like they put it on slow. There was the element of Kung Fu which was the flying and spinning in the air and I was ok with that since that is acceptable action.. There were supporting characters that I really liked and the back stories were a good addition but I would have like to had them settled instead of just dropped.. I wasn't fond of how they seemed to rush the ending.. boom everything was set right and everyone just went along with all the bad that had happened. I will probably watch this again just to catch all of the things I missed =)) I'll check out your channel to see what else you've reviewed for inspiration

Hey - I think an important aspect to keep in mind, is that korea is transitioning from a very conservative patriarchial society to a more sexually liberated culture. And so that means some very in your face moments occur in mainstream culture there. Like it has done in other parts of the world during the 60s,70s and 80s. Showing any kind of non hetero sexuality is ground breaking in a mainstream SK production for example. - YES! You are absolutely right that this, especially if you are already past this liberation point in your cognitive appreciation of womanhood, becomes very in yourface and seems agressively clumsily and almost offensively done. But to have these moments are important, as icebreakers that move what the public considers acceptable in the local Overton window of discourse. - So SK is doing things that might have been done in lets say, Denmark, in the 90s... it will become more sophisticated. less there for provocation, if you give it a few years. I agree with your other points. But honestly I have seen so many Kdramas and Cdramas where the writing just goes off the deep end at this point, that I just kind of have very low expectations for any consistently great screen writing. - I really liked the chinese drama Ruyi's royal love in the palace - if you havent watched that, its excellent.

Hi loves!! Just to add to my thoughts about nudity in this drama. I keep seeing comments like "s£x was a power move back in the day" "some of you "kids" acting like your ancestors did not have s£x" and other comments along those lines. I just want to remind that this is a story inspired by actual history and a quick Google search of Queen Woo and her very brief documented story will show that there was no mention of this so called power move back in the day and as a result was very unnecessary(*plus characters can be made to have explicit scenes without over exposure). We need to admit to ourselves that the explicity of this drama was a choice, a very questionable choice at that. It makes it even worse that I see comments in defense of this questionable choice point out that there already is not enough record of the actual history involved. And I wonder how that knowledge does not inspire disappointment over the fact that an opportunity to "reimagine and fill up" the story was taken as an opportunity to show how "we were made by our ancestors". Lastly, the nudity is not the only problem of this drama. The writing was a MESS. The politics in this was so insulting to a production of this size(*hence why I didn't really speak on it). How was there not a single move that felt clever?? Everything was so in your face you would think the writer of this drama has never watched a political show in their life or heard of the word subtlety. Anyway that's my piece and to each their own I guess🤷🏾‍♀️

I love damsel in distress storylines too 😂😂 I have posted for book recommendations before online specifically for damsel in distress fmc (female main character) 😆 do you read romantic fantasy? Try it if not!! Even if you don't like fantasy you may like fantasy romance :) ♡ I am trying to get into different kind of books too but I've always just loved romance 😂

Get well soon my dear. I think "The Double" is that curious case of a techincally flawed drama that still manage to work and gets people by the feelings. It is like that fast food that is enjoyable to look at and tasty. The fact that the FL is an experienced-previously-married young woman paired with a virgin young noble man who is an authority, works in the favour of the show by making it stands out among the sea of cdramas where your FL is your typical extreme virgin ingenue that got the aura of an underaged girl. Here The Double presents us with a couple of a MAN and a WOMAN !
