Whenever I've sold a home, I've bought a new set of white towels. I would also buy a new white bar of soap and something like Chanel dusting powder or perfume. Every morning before leaving for work, I'd load our personal toiletries into a canvas tote bag and put them in the back of my car. Then, I'd put out the unused white bar of soap, the white towels and the black and white Chanel boxes, empty. You want your house to look aspirational, not lived in. I agree with the luxury look for selling. I also will hang a mirror in one of the front rooms so that buyers will literally see themselves in the house. And for god's sake people, leave the toilet seat lid down, especially in photos.

Add orchids in the bathrooms. Add lemons in the kitchen 😊

The dining room in the house we were selling had six (6!) pieces of furniture beside the table and chairs! The table was very big and dark so I bought a light colored oval table and six chairs for $400.00 and staged the room with ONLY that! What a huge difference! I later sold the set for $395.00 so it only cost me $5.00 (and the cost of the storage unit!)

Nice advice however I feel the opposite in some instances...I don't like bright white towels and linens...that just makes it feel hospital like. Soft neutrals are the way to go for linens and towels in my opinion. Also anything bright white makes me feel like I shouldn't get comfortable or touch anything....again, I want a home to feel homey and comfortable like I could sit down and put my feet up and relax...not stark white hospital / hotel room. When I have to spend time in a hotel I can't wait to get back home! I do agree with a soft white curtains to showcase a nice window and bring the brightness of the outside in...and it goes with any wall color as well.
