I would say it looks pretty good for the genre. Obviously it's an indie, roguelike-ish game. Not sure what you would expect out of it.

Quite a bit, but it depends on the pace of your gameplay. Obviously on permadeath you're a bit more careful I would say. I don't have a precise number for it.

Against the troll, 100%. The Manticore fight already showcases electromancy a little bit better.

You need to have accepted the quest I guess.

Mistakes? The fight was rather easy. No need to sweat over it.

It's actually safer to get close to the troll than staying away lol. As long as its earthquake skill is ready, it won't hit you with usual claw attack

I bet cryomancy, the mage item seller in brynn has the corresponding cloaks (pyro, eletric, geo, chronomancy, cryo)

It can be anything but yes, it's entirely possible that they will fill some remaining trees in sorcery because there's a lot left to do

I improve reputation in city then buy from the guys in the lower left, they are the rich looking dudes and u gotta bribe em, bring them what they want( you can buy the stuff in brynn) and they will sell you shot if you go in there house at night that’s how to get the armor and staff. Also to get the rare artifacts and unique gear you gotta go to “ distant dungeons” that don’t have quests. You can find them in the outer 2-3 tiles of map. At least that’s where I do. And u gotta use examine surrounding in every room of every dungeon cause you can find secret rooms with unquie gear

It's all about reputation when it comes to what items the merchants are going to sell. I have respect reputation in brynn, it's aroun 7000 points in reputation. Be sure to check that.

The biggest thing about Impulse is its crowd control but against the troll I highly doubt it's going to have much effect. I might be wrong about that but i'm not gonna test in a permadeath run essentially.

@@jim-bot it does damage over time, replaces Resonating status with a more powerful one (which still counts as Resonating for relevant skills) and can be extended with a simple jolt

@@joachimvonvolkenrose6925 Fair argument and I agree, it's definitively a good spell but well, I explained why I wasn't keeping that in mind much. Honestly you have so many spells (including the magic mastery ones) but you gotta select a few and focus since by the time you prep your 5 buffs and debuffs the boss has killed you ahah.

No, you don't need lvl 30, it heavily depends on the build and how much you want and can exploit the troll AI without repercussions. Pure electromancer is certainly not one of the best if you want to kill him low level though is my impression. Hard to give precise numbers for everything since stoneshard runs are really really long and I don't have time to try everything. I just do permadeath runs very slowly and at a pace where i'm sure I won't have too much trouble. It's one of the options after all.

@@jim-bot I havent played electromancy yet, but i think electromancy isnt the best choice against the troll because you just cant knock it back, inmobilize it nor stun it. What would you recommend adding to the build to help dealing damage to an almost inmovable beast?

@@martabanegas5663 sword and shield was the safest choice to kill troll on low level. If you get dash the troll basically cant hit you back. He'll just die from all the bleeding stacks you inflict. Just be careful when he heal and his slam is on cd. You need to skip a turn and let him heal once so his first attack after you disrupt his heal is the slam and not the swipe attack. If you attack him instantly when the slam is one turn cd, youd be in alot of pain lmao

I usually try to max level / full build a character (so level 25+ by the end of the run) so I take my time, it's the surefire way to finish a playthrough and accomplish what I want to do. I don't remember the exact level but I was at least amity in mannshire pre-troll? I had the tier 3 electromancy spells unlocked most likely. You can progress with lower level too but be prepared with medicines and unlock dash much sooner than I did (it was one of the last thing I did). > what would you say is the most dangerous mob so far? I would say hentai proselyte is up there I actually think the troll is the strongest enemy i've had to face the whole playthrough because if you want to play pure mage and stay at range it can be a metric ton of annoying with the boulders or silence/stun at the wrong time. Once I unlocked ball lightning and later tempest dungeon bosses were a joke. The first necromancer and the first slug boss proselyte were the most annoying prior to that with the abilities I had unlocked at that point. At 25-30 everything is a joke obviously.

It's a mix of low cost spells and well, energy restoration. You can see the values in the log, 10 energy through restoration every x turn and I have 36% Spells Energy Cost, Jolt is 3 energy. Most spells aren't that high cost for me, Tempest is 18 energy. The restoration already outpaces my energy usage not even including Conductivity and Recharge (tier 3 and tier 4 electro passives). Yeah, it's a lot about positioning and moving through the arena.

It's sort of a poison grenade that I wanted to try on the boss but I missed both times, you can purchase them at high rep in brynn from the alchemist. Well, I assume my poor accuracy had a role in it but anyway, it was just for fun.

Do you use both blessing and vigor while farming the dungeons? Probably yes. At that level you should be able to quickly clear all the dungeons. What I did extra was exploring the map quite a bit and there's a lot of random encounters at higher levels so you'll gain a lot automatically as long as you keep exploring. It's still a grind of course. I did a lot of distant dungeons too. I found 6 total on the map and fully clearing them gave a lot of exp.

Yes, you're right, I could've used step aside to save some turns. About the rest as I said in the other comments, I didn't want to do the usual thing of dancing at his feet. > if you applied good amount of resonance on him, he will most certainly not heal the fight was still very short turn wise if you skim the turns I used to heal or patch injury, get my staff, it's not like he lets you apply resonances for free, but sure.

I have absolutely no idea either and yes, it's kind of funny how it happened back to back lmao. In recent years i've unfortunately "witnessed" some of these single player games being more and more populated by sweaty individuals playing them and acting like we're playing the world cup or something. Beats me why. Multiplayer aren't enough I guess.

I killed the troll 3-4 times (all on permadeath, i'm not rolling until I get a good "clip"). I'm wondering if you have any experience though since you don't understand what's happening (troll spamming boulder whenver he can or stunning / disarming my character) and what i'm building (full mage, can't go dancing at the troll's feet with no defensive stats). It's not random actions. I do full mage builds and electromancy doesn't work well against it, the damage is fine but if you want a good showcase of the troll being unable to do anything against a full mage build you can watch my geomancer video on it, where while being 6 level short he couldn't move or do anything and died pretty quickly. Show me your full electromancy build / run against the troll, i'd be pretty curious to see the "strat".

@@rohacjustrohac3581 Everybody knows that, i'm not going for that (it's boring doing the same thing on every character) and anyway you're way too optimistic thinking you can dance melee with pure mages like that with not RNG based repercussions. The only hit he did melee was a bleed too. My only means of escape is long cooldown dash. You're free to risk your permadeath run going full melee where if anything goes wrong and it stuns you or drops your weapon in a bad spot he gets a couple of free hits maybe. Bad injury or couple of bleeds and you can stare at the screen. The important part is that he's dead and this is not a showcase "speedrun troll" fight, there's really no reason to even discuss this.

There is no tactic with mages because staying permanently long range means being spammed with boulder toss (no mobility to avoid it constantly) and greatly inconvenienced when he regenerates and you have to walk 3-4 tiles to hit him, what you're seeing is how the troll works against a pure mage build. Maybe by tactic you meant exploiting the troll AI by being in the tiles in front of him like everyone does to avoid the boulders (and only facing the very easy to dodge cone / square attacks) and being smacked with no defensive equipment? That wasn't the purpose of the build and that is not the way to go, friend. Copying what everyone else does is not tactics in the slightest anyway.

it was a long time ago and this build has vastly changed (singular strike in particular is very different nowadays). It's not possible anymore to accomplish this specifically but you can do similar things with spectre and other weapons. That being said, I called it predator back then based on the "predator" from the movies with the same name (the first movie is cool at least, don't know about the others ahah). The ship is constantly cloaked like them and appears only to strike and "kill". It's obviously only a fun reference, it's not literal or 1:1 in any way. :D

I don't think Rosaria would add anything to my comp. Albedo I can see since this was mainly a single target floor but well... I don't have him. They would still perform very similarly anyway. In your situation you have different needs due to having 2 geo comps to maintain and running skyward atlas, in my case it's a bit different.

I know how the burst works but don't judge me D: nowadays i'm generally oonga boongaing through abyss since at this point everything is pretty much hyperinvested and there's no strict need to "try" that much for a clear. But thanks anyway, you're right, it can definitively be played better to increase the potential dps. Edit: On a sidenote i'm probably sure i'm not using or at least making sure that all the mistsplitter's stacks are activated or using ayaka's kit fully, same reason more or less.

@@jim-bot Yeah it's fine, I do the same with Hu Tao or the serpent spine. I don't really care if I could get her 50% Hp pyro boost, or the serpent spines extra damage. Waiting around 20 seconds for the serepent spine buff is annoying so I just go with it and still clear quick enough
