Episode 008: Stewardship-Part 4-Mission
5 місяців тому
How do we steward the mission God gave us? How do you define the mission and what are things to think about when evaluating how we go about stewarding the mission? There are a lot of crazy ideas out there surrounding the mission of the church and it's important that we develop our ability to discern between the World and God when it comes to who we follow when determining the course for our chu...
Episde 006: Stewardship-Part 3-Facility
Переглядів 15 місяців тому
We all know that we need to take care of our facilities and grounds, but something you may not immediately associate with this discussion is security, but in this era of increasing danger for those that walk through our doors, it's important that we be more pro-active in ensuring we are doing our part to protect them. How do we do that in a manner that doesn't compromise our mission of reaching...
Episode 005: Stewardship-Part 2-People
5 місяців тому
An area that I believe is easy to overlook is how we steward our people well, both the larger congregation and membership and more specifically those that serve the church and make it all happen. Too often I walk into churches that have good people serving the church that are so beyond burned out that their passion and enthusiasm for ministry is long gone, replaced by despair, discouragement an...
Episode 004: Stewardship-Part 1-Money
Переглядів 25 місяців тому
It might seem obvious to start a discussion about stewardship with money, but too often I have found pastors and ministry leaders putting lowest price as the highest priority when purchasing decisions are being made and we need to change our mindset and concept of saving money. In addition, tithing, financial maturity and knowledge are part of this discussion, both in your personal life and as ...

Joy Community Church Projection System

In early 2021, we were contacted by Brian Reilly about upgrading their projection system. This is what Brian and the church have to say about the resulting upgrade! For reference: "The video was recorded with the stage lights set at 30-40% which we are finding to be sufficient for our live streaming. In either case(house lights or stage lights) the projected image from the Epson 805F short thro...

      Awesome! Happy to help! There are some pretty cool lower cost options available these days, too. Springtree LED and SHEHDS are a couple of lower cost manufacturers that are trying to disrupt the LED leko space. SHEHDS still has some growing pains I'm trying to work with them on but Springtree is pretty much there. :)

    From my email interactions with him, I believe Pablo is really a genuine guy. I do have this version and while it's not the best built, I feel sad that he's out of touch now. I hope the team is still working and I'm not a businessman else of I could see response for this product, I'd be more than happy to help fund his company. The harsh reality though is that the camera industry is a very fast paced world, as is the whole tech industry and delays eventually mean that when your product is out, people are already looking elsewhere at better options/alternatives Having said that, the Pandora is still a fairly unique product and I enjoy using mine as a shoulder rig setup with my Canon M5 for light weight non gimbal shots. That battery pack lasts forever.

      Agreed! I loved doing this little video series simply because I got to meet and interact with some of the smaller companies where you can talk with the owners and the people who actually build the products. Wishing I could get to NAB this year, but just not in the logistics.

    Hello Tim, In this video you talk of a subsequent video about setting it up. Do you do that? I can't find it.

    • @TimAdams
      @TimAdams 5 років тому

      Ian, sorry, but no, we did not produce that video. I know this is disappointing, but allow me to explain-we had such a hard time getting these to setup properly that it was nearly a year later when I was able to finally resolve an issue where the cameras would work properly for a while and then develop a control issue where the cameras would move independently of the controller. We finally were able to narrow the issue down to power coming via the PoE+ switch...once I changed the switch, the cameras behaved properly, including having the proper green indicator light, rather than the red we had been getting. By the time this had all been resolved, I had completely forgotten to produce that video. My apologies. If I were to recommend a PTZ camera system today, I would steer you towards the JVC PZ-100 system paired with the RM-LP100 controller. JVC has completely re-designed the way their cameras move and I can now say confidently an operator can expect to accurately track a moving subject smoothly and reliably, the movement is that smooth. I hope that helps! I have fallen off with my videos of late, but am hoping to find some time over the holidays to produce some more content!

      Thank you Tim, Yes, this is helpful. The JVC equipment is quite a lot more expensive and not as available - supported in NZ.

      Ian Ellis I’m surprised to hear there is a large price difference as it’s not that much here Stateside and you get both HDMI and SDI on the JVC. The newer models even add an NDI option, which is awesome. What part of NZ? Maybe I can help find a distributor...

    • @iamie153
      @iamie153 5 років тому

      Hawkes Bay, East Coast North Island. I went to the NZ JVC site but as soon as you click on anything it takes you to the Aussie site.

      Ian Ellis you might also look at PTZOptics and NewTek...but finding a local distributor might be tough...I’ll take a look and do some digging to see if I can’t find someone closer to you!

    Good afternoon Does this console support auxiliary monitoring via mobile? For example, can each musician regulate his own assistant without the need to ask the technician?

    • @timadams490
      @timadams490 7 років тому

      You can use an iPad app to control a mix, but you cannot monitor in realtime without additional equipment.

    • @ronewdo
      @ronewdo 7 років тому

      Got it. My idea is that musicians regulate their helpers through their cell phones, all connected in a network via a real-time router. It would be good to take this work from the technician who is more attentive to PA.

    • @TimAdams
      @TimAdams 7 років тому

      So can you explain what you mean by "regulate their helpers?"

    • @OffGridandOutdoors
      @OffGridandOutdoors 7 років тому

      I believe that the PreSonus QMic App for Android and iPad does just what the OP is asking. It will allow you to control your monitor mixes from a mobile device. Not sure, But this is my understanding. See the Qmix app ... www.presonus.com/products/QMix-UC

    • @TimAdams
      @TimAdams 7 років тому

      Yes, it will do that, Michael. Just don't misunderstand that the QMix app does not also provide in-ear audio; it only gives you control of an Aux Send that still has to physically connect to the PreSonus mixer, be sent to the stage and either run through an amp to a floor wedge, be connected directly to a hotspot monitor, or feed into a wired or wireless in-ear system. ;)

    Question! What are you upgrading from at your church? We currently have a Mackie Onyx 32 and I am hoping this will be not only be an upgrade in features but in pre amp quality. Let me know how it sounds!

    • @TimAdams
      @TimAdams 7 років тому

      Hi Brad! The church is upgrading from an older analog Mackie 32-channel mixer. I am unsure of the exact model, but it was nearly 3 feet wide, if that's any help. The pre-amps are providing much better clarity and a lot more power in terms of available signal level, there is no question. It is difficult to truly judge the extent of the sonic improvement given their old JBL speaker system and the fact the sound booth is tucked against the back wall under the balcony. Their solution was a ceiling mounted under-balcony JBL speaker on a delay being fed from the Mono output of the old mixer. SMH
