Cayin A-88T Bias Adjustment
I got these instructions from plangco from an Audiogon forum
forum.audiogon.com/discussions/how-to-safely-bias-cayin-a88t-tube-amp?highlight=Cayin%2Bbias
It is easy to bias the Cayin A88T. You do not need to pay anyone. Buy a multimeter at Radio Shack or elsewhere for $20 or less.
Put the amp on its side and take off the metal bottom (lots of screws, do not take off the feet). The voltages can be lethal, so do not touch any of the wires and stay with the amp while it warms up, so no one will come in and touch anything. Turn the amp on and let it run for at least 20 minutes. Before that the bias will not be accurate as it keeps changing in the first 20 minutes of warming up.
You will see inside underneath around the periphery round ceramic sockets wired for the power tubes. Near them is a blue board with a .5 inch tall adjustment screw that is slotted on top for a screw driver. You can carefully adjust with your hands being careful not to touch anything, or use a slotted screwdriver with a naturally insolating plastic end (be damn sure you are not touching the metal in case the end of the screw driver accidently touches something else).
The four round tube holders underneath the amp have wires soldered to the pins of the ceramic tube holder. The positive contact point for your multimeter (red multimeter probe) on one side is the blue wire where it is bare and soldered to the tube socket pin and on the other side of the amp orange wires are the positive. A group of bare thick silver wire in the center of the amp is the negative for all adjustments.
I set my multimeter at 20V. Use your red multimeter probe and touch the positive contact point (blue or orange wire bare contact point to the ceramic tube socket) and the black to touch the negative contact (thick bare silver wire set in middle of amp) then adjust the blue adjustment screw on the corresponding blue board to match your desired bias setting. .4 is the factory recommended bias. You can turn the adjustment knob on the blue board to match. I set mine at .35 so the tubes will last longer and the amp will sound slightly warmer.
If you are using new tubes, after the tubes have broken in the bias may change significantly. After about 200 hours of use with new tubes, bias the amp again, then once a year is probably fine.

E-bike motor not working

My daughter's E-bike turned on but the motor didn't work. I figured out the problem was with the magnetic switch to turn off the motor while braking. Sometimes you can get the same problem when the brake lever gets stuck and doesn't pop all the way back out. I also keep a few neodymium batteries in my bike bag. Handy for adjusting the magnets on the wheels as well.

      I understand what you’re saying But “If you’re only using your bike when you feel energized versus all the time - as e-bike users tend to - then you’re not doing yourself any favors,” said Cherry. “Research says people ride e-bikes more often and farther, so they get more physical activity, even though it’s less intense.” A 2019 study found that e-bikes can provide intense exercise, it just doesn’t feel like a workout. Another 2021 study came to roughly the same conclusion: Electric bicycling can definitely count as exercise. Those researchers, who compared the physiological effects of e-bikes and standard road bikes during a simulated commute, determined that the e-bike riders elevated their breathing and heart rates enough to count as a meaningful workout. However, those health benefits varied from person to person.

    RIZE BIKES Beware and Do Not Buy, with all the bike choices out there you can skip this company. -I bought 2 bikes. About US $3800.00 -I saved Rize shipping costs and picked them at the warehouse. -1 of the batteries would not charge on the bike with the larger battery, so it quickly died. -It took the company 6 days to get me a new battery. -The new battery in the bike did not last long and the bike began to not work well. -After 1 wk the bike died and would not turn on. -Rize would not refund me, fix the bike or offer any other solutions. -I emailed & called spending so much time to try and have them fix this issue but they kept making empty promises. -My next option, which is painful, will be take them to court & waste more of my time writing bad reviews until I am refunded. This has been 1 month since I purchased the bike and it just sits in my garage not working. The bikes were Christmas gifts for my sons to ride together....... that has not worked out. dave

    Haven't seen any videos on the RX, they are all on the RX Pro, so thanks for this. It appears that both the RX and the Pro have the same heights even though the RX has a 19" frame and the Pro has the 17" frame. What I would like to know is, if you lower your seat with the suspension post down to its' lowest position, how high is it in inches from the ground to the top of the seat? At 5'9 I need to know that cause the suspension post adds a couple of inches. Thanks

    I definitely will get a extensive range testing. So far I’ve only been riding 10 to 15 miles a night on it. I live in a pretty mountainous area so I’m often using a lot of help up the hills. This weekend I’m going to a lake near me and I’m going to try to get a long ride in. I’ll let you guys know what kind of mileage I’m getting

    • @Brighamdoc
      @Brighamdoc 4 роки тому

      I’ve only put about 50 miles on the bike. The brakes seem fine but if I’m going really slow I can make The brakes make that funky sound that’s been described before. It does kind of sound like water but it’s just the brakes resonating through the fork and body. I don’t mind the brakes at all really. At least not yet.

    • @Brighamdoc

      They "work" great but do make that funky sound at times. My front rotor is not true which I didn't notice until I had to change a flat recently.

      @@Brighamdoc How you could get a flat in only 50 miles well it could happen anytime... I'm just at 1,000 miles and only in the last 100 have I been carrying spare tubes, pump, tire levers and wrenches. I go really far and have been having the feeling that my luck is just-about up 😆 brakes are just like new (the funky noises) but otherwise the bike's held up with no problems 🤗

    • @Brighamdoc
      @Brighamdoc 4 роки тому

      I think around 35 MPH is my sustainable max on flat ground. The bike feels very stable at that speed but the tires are really growling due to the tread. I don't feel comfortable going that fast mostly due to traffic. People just don't calculate a bike will be going that fast and pull in front of you.
