Okay guys, i need help. I was playing HGSS for the last 2 Month, started a new game and did SR till getting a shiny starter, got a totodile after 2-3 Days of SR. Then i went to the dark cave and was looking for my 2nd shiny, was hoping for a zubat, but got a geodude. I wanted to at least evolve him to final stage, but its not possible without trading or cheating. So i decided to edit the savefile with pokegen, so i opened the .dsv file with pokegen and changed graveler to golem and saved it. All went good, no problems at all. But after playing the game for couple weeks now looking for my 3rd shiny, first i hoped for nidoran, pidgey or vulpix, did random encounter for two weeks, no shiny.. then i went to the game corner and hunted for shiny abra, did over 4000 SR but no shiny at all.. Did i broke the game by editing the savefile or am i the unluckiest person ever lived? Pls help

I luckily have all my old 3DS Pokémon games, gen 1-2 on virtual console on my 3 3DS models and gen 3 on my Everdrive and Analogue Pocket

thanks for this update and modern video because others are old some dont get too the point thank you i been trying too get gen 1 2 3 for gen 3 i just look on the back for the gold squares and soul silver if they shine a light through but some have been selling a fake one inplace of soul silver and ds games they have legit pictures . my friend got scame on a seller i been watch i send him the link he told me he was a scammer he had legit picture the soul silver cartage was see through and red wine color but i hate how ds games are hard too fake even the fakes are getting better for me i am collecting from new too old i am collecting them on switch first then now i am focusing on 3ds one thing if you mod your 3ds it can be region free i ma just saying i modded my new 3ds xl before the shop closed more like 2019 i moded it imght update my cfw because it is older luma cfw i might factory whipe and start fresh

You can also tell if a gen 3 game is real by the four little gold squares in the back left corner. Or you can put a gen 3 game in a DS and have a gen 4 game in and it’ll say Migrate from Whatever the game is when you start the gen 4 game. Also gen 4 games should have a reddish look when held up to a light.
