Hi michy. Thanks for upload video
Good match, Michy!
Thanks for leaving the comment! Yes, I played comfortably.
Thanks for sharing, Michy! I appreciated seeing the results in MWC at the end. I hope to see the backgammon community bring more visibility to this form of analysis in the coming years. I believe both EMG and MWC have their place, but I feel like MWC analysis is greatly neglected, leading to many common misconceptions about the game.
It is an interesting opinion. I also see only Normarize Equity instead of MWC. Do you think MWC is more important?
@@MichyBG To determine who performed better in the match, I believe MWC is a much better indicator. Whether we like it or not, the cube level and the score have a tremendous impact on the gravity of our errors. Normalized Equity does not reflect this. However, I believe EMG is the better tool for learning from one's errors.
@@mackenzieusher8025 I understood your idea. We need to use them differently depending on our purpose.
Thanks for upload video
Thank you for watching and leaving the first comment! ☺
omg the noise in t hat room!
RIght, a backgammon tournament room is always like that. ☺
@@MichyBG Yes, I have noticed that rising noise levels and PA announcements are becoming the acceptable norm. Seems out of place to me in a 'mind sports' event.
@@mobiusklein9140 Backgammon tournament room always has lots of noise. At least we have the sound of dice and checkers. 😅
@@mobiusklein9140 If the room is quiet, then any big noise disturb the players.
At 1:28 why is it wrong to hit blue's checker from the 13 point? Why is it right to make the 9 point. I would've hit. OTB.
There are a couple of reasons which are against hitting: - We secured the advanced anchor. - We are okay in the race. - The opponent can establish an anchor with 5s, instead of 6s. - Generally, making a point is better than hitting loose.
Michy what’s wrong with you 😂
Everything is fine with me. I just wanted to win. 😉
Hi Michi, thanks for your work and good content. Help me so much. :-) One question: Are you not listed at Galaxy Backgammon?
Thank you for enjoying my vidoes! Yes, I also play Backgammon Galaxy. My ID is Michy.
Please should the checker play analysis more. I get it were supposed to think, but I can't see how the play I thought was right vs the correct play that fast.
Thanks for your opinion! I'll try to show you the analysis longer. ☺
Some crazy dices here, the 65 lol and the two times Mr Cross wasn't able to fill that board, I enjoyed the match ty Mr Michy for sharing and uploading. I like the ones with XG and I have to admit I become scary good at BG just by watching, when in doubt I just make the XG move ( I always think like: what would XG do ? )and its mostly right. But I would have run with the 5/2 which was a pretty big mistake and this moments are very teachable by seeing the XG evaluation.
👍

My worst match of the whole tournament.
Then, I need to post your best match next. 😉
I just wish you would slow down Ryan. You won't win many major titles playing like that. Just go back and listen to some of the commentary on your matches. You slam checkers, damn near break clocks slapping them. It's like watching a hyper 4 year old. You are destined for backgammon greatness just take it slower
Thanks for uploading Michy!
Thanks for watching and leaving the comment, buddy!
Hello dear Michy ! Thank you very much for the video. Ryan played very fast indeed which is a bit surprising for certain decisions. Maybe he was a bit stressed and he feeled a bit tensed on the video (cursing sometimes, touching checkers when not his turn, making some remarks on your play - your recube...)
Not stressed, that is just his style of play. He says that he believes he plays better when he plays quickly, which is a philosophy I can get behind to a certain extent. Personally, I think some of his errors could be avoided if he were to slow down for tougher positions, but I don't play under a 3.0 on average. So if he thinks that's what works best for him, all the power to him.
I played many practice matches with Ryan in Montreal, and found he loves playing fast. It's his style. He basically recoganize the position very quickly.
@@mackenzieusher8025 I didn't know his philosophy, but it makes sense to me.
Thank you for uploading, Michy! Can you explain why Ryan plays like he had just taken speed? 😳😳
Others asked me the same question. He has quick mind and love playing fast. That's my impression. ☺
34:42 I prefer the analysis to stay in sync with the plays. Then we can look at it (or not) when we choose. It is not hard simply not to look when we want to think about the position ourselves, but waiting for the reveal past the time we wish to see it is irritating, as is figuring out what play the current analysis refers to, or having the analysis you wish to see suddenly flash by in 1/10 second.
Thank you for the feedback. I found the problem at 34:42. It showed the wrong analysis (the opponent is on roll). I try to fix this kind of mistake in the future. 😅
What it was at 54 mn? 3:2 played as double 3.
I rolled 3-3, not 3-2. The light made a trick.
Hi michy.thanks for upload video.please don't forget commentary 😊
I will keep talking for my next match. 😅
Nice presentation, because we have time to think (or pause video) before XG reveals the answer
Thank you for telling us that! The editor (my sister) is careful about when she shows the analysis results. 😊
It is a great feature!
@@Den.K98 Thanks! It was a tough match.
Hi michy. I saw this match live.what a bad loss you had😢
Thank you for the 1st comment! Wow, you watched it live. 😉
Argh, a spoiler for the first comment!
Hi Michy, great insight again. I don't think you were as sharp as usual. Apart from the oversight, there were a few other positions that you overlooked slightly, which I'm sure you would play correctly on another day. Just shows that even top Grandmasters can have their off days too. One final point, when you were calculating your racing lead (in the last game), you converted your pip count but you also should convert your opponent's pip count as well - another sign that you were not firing on all cylinders (English expression :-)). Thanks again for an entertaining and eductational video and 'Good Luck' in Sweden !!!
Right, I did not play well. Then, it's my skill. I have no excuese. What I did is what I did. 😉
Is this available as a download in Xg format?
Sorry, I need to rebuild the system to upload. 😅
Great commentary once again!
Thank you for watching, my friend! ☺
Hi michy. you are a nice man. I like your commentary .
Wow, thanks! 😊
Thanks for upload video. What is diameter of checkers and dice(in mm)?
Nice board. What brand is it?
My backgammon board is made by FM Gammon. www.fmgammon.com/
I'm sorry, but this is the first video you've offered that I couldn't watch to the end. Too many people talking over each other. Just too frenetic for my enjoyment. Look forward to your next one, though. Thanks for all you contribute to the game.
Thank you for your opinion! It's important for me. I try to make a video, which people enjoy and watch until the end.
If you plan to commentate with 3.or 4 people then you need to add much more to the time bank not just the standard 2x per point..
Larry shiller is funny man😊
Thank you for your opinion. I will add extra time to the time bank or will have only two people instead of 3 or 4. By the way, I added extra time on our delay (18 secondes instead of 12 seconds).
both players make the difficult moves look easy, and the easy moves look difficult
It's great to hear that. I like your expression. ☺
Some interesting games and cube actions …. What were your calculations behind the 4-cube drop to 5-7/9 ? And did you overevaluate the race in the last game with your 6-1 move ?
I may make a video to explain the cube action of the 4 cube. Yes, I miscounted the pip in the last game when I rolled 61. 😅
Michy played better with checkers, played better with a cube, had better luck, but still lost. EXtremeGammon (XG) is broken
XG says my luck was -2.295 and Roberto was +2.295. Anyway I regret my checker play when I rolled 61 in the last game.
Hi michy.thanks for upload video
Of course, my friend! ☺I hope you enjoyed it.
Fortunate roll @ 15:39. Almost saw a recube to 4 😮
Was it at game 2, the score was 1-0?

better PR, higher Luck and still lost the match. Rare. Nice talking, impressive shot counting, so fast! thx
Counting shot is much easier than counting pips. You'll use to do that. ☺
I wouldn't trust the Luck calculator on Studio Heroes. If you see the summary of XG, it shows that he was significantly less lucky than his opponent.
@@mackenzieusher8025 so they provide the luck with different way.
