Did you knit instead of purl? Or just need to UN-Knit? here's a quick one!
Needlefelting Steek Video

I will needle felt my stitches in my knitting in order to cut my knitting, that was knit in the round, into a flat piece. Steeking is very scary.....at least for me as I have never done this before and you will be seeing me do it for the first time!

Thanks for this! I heard this process mentioned on The Woolly Thistle podcast and wanted to see someone do it. Bravo!

Why not simply knit it flat?

Probably to avoid all the two-colour purling (especially from the left hand!)

“Simply?” Well, to each his own. ❤️

Thank you for your video. What is the name of the tool and where do I find it? Did you do any reinforcing on the edges later? Did anything come loose? Thank you for your time.

Impressive! Both your project and the steeking. I was discussing steeking with a friend this evening, and he mentioned felted steeking. You actually made it look easy. Question: How do you know if you've felted too much, or worse(?), too little? I'm working on a cardigan now, and the next step is steeking ... as soon as I finish the 2nd sleeve. :) TIA.

This is very helpful. I have steeked before but this looks like an interesting and efficient way to secure the edges. I love the pattern. May I ask where you got it and what wools you used? I am on Ravelry so can look there if you tell me what your Ravelry Name.

Hi Elaine! So glad this helped you- The pattern was of my own doing-but I have since made the stranded stripe throw www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/stranded-stripe-throw And used stitch repeats from the book that pattern was in! Enjoy-my name on Ravelry is cdemarco but I have updated much lately there.....

I decided to try steeking this year, so I made the Frost Slippers as a test project. I saw the Interweave article on needle felting steeks, but I wasn’t sure what to do after that....Do I still have to crochet an edge, baste the edges, or what? So I watched this and just plain blocked it. It works!!!! Thank you for this. P.S. Your project is beautiful.
