Mooer Shimverb (mini reverb review)
So many people shitting on these amps. Honestly one of the best, most 3D cleans I’ve heard and the amp is so easy to dial in
Came here for to hear the amp im looking at but this kids pretty good man
@@WolfPackColt45 thanks dude! I appreciate it!
You really did this amp justice. Thanks for the insight! You sounded great!!
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely! We have one at the shop I teach at and got to mess around with it today!
Wayne Static of Static X, it's the amp he used to record that album.
I’ve been involved in music for 40 years at different levels of success. I’m still involved now in writing and record as ever I was. If you’re born a musician then you’ll never abandon or escape it because it’s ’you!’ Good luck and never give in.
I hear you and wholeheartedly agree! Thank you very much.
@@aaronarandac4 my pleasure I enjoyed watching the movie and your other videos. I’ve subscribed to follow so look forward to seeing where life takes you. 🤘
@@user-xi9ri2pg8v I appreciate it! If you're interested you can also check out my band's channel @reasonsaboveall We just released a new self produced song literally an hour ago called Lock Me Up. Cheers!
Thanks for your video! I built it now the same way: HB G212 with one Texas Heat and one Swamp Thang. I Play it with a HK Grandmeister and it‘s fine - but not perfect because the swamp thang is louder. Is there a way to get them to the same level? With building in a resistor or somerhing? Thank you! 👍🏻
Hey there! Honestly I'm not too sure about modifying circuitry, i've never really gotten into that kind of thing. The swamp thang is a little louder, but I mainly use the cab for recording where i can just adjust the gain on whatever mic im using for each speaker. Another idea could be running a stereo amp setup so each speaker would have its own amp/ volume. But as is for live usage, if it's cranked up I dont think people would notice a volume difference. Just one of the quirks of blending 2 different speakers I suppose.
I have the same cab. Are the stock v30s both 16ohm ran in parallel? Im super new to understanding impedance.
good video i just bought one as well. you answered a lot of questions i had
Happy to help!
thanks for not bring a lame close mic blues fest. Im looking for something affordable that sounds great for dumb powerchord chugin and maby some boomer bends that my son wont mute with a 22"holy china rimshoting blast beats, but also have a low volume mode for night practice, I'm not going on tour or recording any albums, also if i'm building my own cab is 2 seperate 2x12s going to be as good as 1 4x12? I like djent type tones and mt guitars are 8 and 7 strings
Hello! I do feel this amp is good for 7 and 8 string guitars. keeps them tight and punchy. in regards to 2 2x12s vs 1 4x12 it depends on what you want. Some advantages with the 2x12s may be portability, and you can spread your sound out to both sides of a room/stage by putting one cab on the left side and the other on the right. And you could just take one 2x12 cab somewhere if you need a smaller set up. You can get comparable volumes to a 4x12 as well. Biggest advantage of a 4x12 to be honest is having the speakers stand taller so it's closer to your ears if you stand and play. But of course you can stack the 2x12s or put them on their side. I'd say biggest thing to consider is what size you're willing to move around and work with/ have space for.
What impedance only one speaker? 16 or 8 ohm?
Each speaker is 16ohms sorry about that. You are correct. Two 16 ohm speakers wired in series makes an 8ohm cab.
@@aaronarandac4 How are two 8-ohm speakers connected to get 8 ohms at the output? As far as I know, the total should be either 16 or 4.
I love this pedal I’ve had it for years! Got rid of the Polly tune for this korg!
My generator 120 mk3 sounds killer. It’s weird that your tone wouldn’t change when switching through the amp. I will say the generator is steered towards metal but I do get nice cleans on my telecaster. I run an mxr 10 band eq through the fx loop, slightly remove some unwanted frequencies. I also use the noise gate fairly open. Revv🤘🏼
cool video
Cheap garbage gear channel.
1:03 Peasants control? I take it!
Id rather to usey revv 100p than a plug in.. your sound is soo muddy
What a great AMP REVIEW. Where you dont play through the amp AT ALL!!
A $500 Blackstar sounds better than this amp. Unusable and too tight to dial a musical gain sound
I think you would have been happier with 100R
I am fixing the 9v connector for a friend's korg pitchblack chromatic tuner and I was wondering, with just an AC power or 9v battery, will the display turn on or do you need other devices connected to it?
You usually need to have a 1/4 inch cable plugged into the input for pedals to turn on when powered
@@aaronarandac4 Thank you. I'll give it back to my friend and he'll let me know. Happy Thanksgiving!
I recently built a 2x12 with the Eminence Swamp Thang and the CV-75 paired. It is a monster sound no matter what amp I’m using. Clean , Crunch or Distortion it’s perfect !
I've been using the Revv models on my FM3 and loving them. It's the green, purple, and red channels of the 120, which should be the same as the channels on the 100P and 100R amps. With my Strandberg NX 8 I've been keeping the EQ all at noon and loving all the channel options. I've found myself loving the red aggression more than I expected for all three channels. I just wish I had the clean too.
This inspired me to make my own cab, so I bought the exact speakers and Cab and built my own. Thanks for the vid.
Cool man! More power to yah!
Not Revv related, but you mentioned Studio One Im considering taking the Presonus plunge... How do you like Studio One?
I love it! I been working with it for about 5 years now. I think its got a really good workflow for recording bands. Modern and efficient.
I’ll definitely be able to get a Trivium tone with this amp, and mine arrives in a few days so I’m excited.
i got a Revv D20 as a pedal platform, took it back , had a really weird frequency going on made my pedals sound fizzy and strange
I almost bought the generator 120 mkiii a couple of weeks ago, but i decided to get the prs mt15 head and a mesa boogie 2x12 cab instead... for half the cost. the mt15 is loud af, and has a mean tone. i like the revv amps, but i think if i'm going to spend that much, maybe i'll get a marshall or soldano or diezel. my band also plays bars, skate parks, small venues... and i'm not about to take a $3-5k amp to one of those shows when i have a bugera that works just fine. i think it's fun to buy new gear, check out different sounds, and keep learning/experiencing new things. thanks for the video!
Same man i also have a bugera! It's hard to get into an expensive boutique amps when I've always been a best band for your buck kinda guy
@@aaronarandac4 for real. it'll happen though, get a good mix of both budget-friendly and boutique. having options will be fun
is it 16ohm speaker or 8 ohm? ty
it's two 16 ohm speakers which makes this a 8ohm cab
I have 2 revvs. I have this same mkiii 100p, and I have an old 1st gen generator 100, and love both! The 100p was a dream come true amp for me! I’ve never had an issue, revv guys are awesome about taking care of customers. The green channel on the new one is one of the best features. Cause the old green channel was just a hot clean. The new green is its own distortion channel. I love it. Not sure if yours has a issue but I can tell on all of my switches, not subtle at all. Each one does a lot for the tone. But maybe stand back instead of right up on it. But man, I’m kinda shocked you don’t like the clean and green channel. Like that blows my mind lol!!! Now I use overdrive with my revvs and it’s been my dream tone. I don’t play any of my other amps now. Revv has ruined all amps for me lol!!! But some people are different. And hear differently. My old revv foot pedal is crazy heavy!!! And thick I like the new one being light for my pedal board. And the bottom they made smooth for Velcro. U can program the amp to have the gate on what channel u want. It took time for me to figure out the amp, but my revv has been just perfect. I love everything about it. Especially since I own an old one too, and how much more u get from the old ones.
Hey, thanks for your comment. It's true everyone hears differently. I'm glad it works for you. I still think it was a good sounding amp, but it just didn't blow me away for the price. But again, it depends on how you intend to use it and what you're looking for. Cheers!
@@aaronarandac4 ya. Everyone likes a certain tone too. Guys that are Mesa rectifier fans prob wouldn’t like the 100p they’d maybe like the 100r but ya man. My amp did blow me away. So much that I got 2 lol!!! Of course the old one was much cheaper. But maybe check out the old one. It’s totally different than the new. More in line with a 5150 kinda. But that’s the one I play live with. But I play 7 string stuff so having the revv boosted in the front, it just sounds perfect to me. But ya man good luck!
Revv amps are not good. I’ve played several of them and they all sound like bees in a box. The even 50 watt sounds better than this.
Man it genuinely sounds like there is something wrong with that crunch channel, Ive watched a lot of reviews on this amp and been in store with a mate when he was testing and the voicings definitely made a difference, here its like nothing at all. If youre looking for another high end amp with multiple voicings, midi capability and great sound id suggest the Mesa Triple Crown. You wont get torpedo built in, but I think it would tick all the boxes youre after.
Tell everyone theyre crap so we can snatch them up $100 - $250!!!
For an Unknown Channel dude. This! Is a Great Review.
Hey thanks man! I do my best!
I gotta say... I clearly hear a difference when switching through the modes. Each of them are shifting freq ranges. The aggression sounds like it is switching from a higher mid range to a lower midrange emphasis. The fat sounds like it is refocusing the low end, and bringing out more low mid. And as you said, the cut is pushing the mids to help the tone cut.
Promo sm ☝️
I want to ask something that might sound ridiculous, can we run 2 output from 6505MH in gigs case? Speaker Out runing to cabinet, then miking and send to FOH & so the MSDI cable out send to the FOH too, so we have 2 different cab sound out with one gitar & one head. Can it work like that?
I started out on the 15 watt version. Many years later i just ordered this. I'm going to put a tube screamer pedal in front of it and it's going to sound killer.
Dude this was really nice to listen to! Great job!
Thank you so much!
very melodic that part at @0:32 makes me think of Juanes, but if they listened to more In Flames i like this one a lot
Hey thanks alot! I see what youre saying. I had a hard time figuring out what to do in that section and decided to throw a curveball haha. Glad you like it!
So glad i saw this review/demo...pretty flabby, and a bees in a jar kinda thing going on...no thanks....headed for a Splawn
I have this amp, and when I plug my headphones in no matter what I do unless I had a boost paddle the volume is really low and then if I plug in my cabinet, it’s way too loud
Try turning the master volume all the way down and use the "gain" knob for clean channel headphone volume and the "volume" knob for lead channel headphone volume.
Nicely done, Aaron!
Thanks man! I believe Dr. Espinoza gave me an "A" for this haha
Wow they compliment each other so well , thank you very much for the review im def getting both now lol
thank you for the response to my comment on your other video. I took the back off my cab and turns out i have a pair of chinese v30s and they're driving me nuts (they say made in china and have the '50' on them, who knows.) I've wanted the swamp thang /texas heat 16 ohm combo for a while and I think that may be my next purchase. My question is, since my cab is already wired with the easily removable clips like yours, do I have to worry about the impedance ? Meaning I have two 16 ohm speakers, and i'm going to swap them out with two 16 ohms anyway.
If you swap out for the same ohms of speakers it'll all be fine. If you wanted to change ohms it only matters for the amp youre plugging in, and if that amp can do different ohms.
@@aaronarandac4 i appreciate the knowledge thanks homie
I'm thinking about getting a 6505MH and looking for an affordable cab to pair it with as an upgrade from a katana 50, this vid is perfect
Did you check out whether the 500W was r.m.s. or 'peak'. U.S.A. codes say that it should be made clear to the buyer. What's the difference? A 500W peak amp could actually be only as low as 100W of r.m.s. power. By comparisons Fender always quote r.m.s. power.
Nice video...Thanks for pointing out how you did this video. I have been trying to find one (not sure if I want V1.7 or V2, or maybe it doesn't matter), but some prices are off the map. Only once in a while you can find one for a decent price. Thanks again for the response on the other video. Gave you a Sub too.... Phil NYC / Jersey Shore Area
Yea since the fulltone company is no longer around, prices can get pretty crazy. Thanks for watching!
@@aaronarandac4 The JOYO Ultimate Drive is supposed to be a pretty good clone of the OCD. ( I saw a comparison on them). I may buy one, until I find a OCD for a decent price, as they're only like $35 for the JOYO.
Nice video.... Would you say these pedals are similar to Fulltone's OCD pedal... Phil
I'd say there is something tonally that can make it feel like the two pedals are of the same brand. However, there are very different feature sets between the two that set them apart. I also have a video on an ocd pedal if you wanna see that too.
@@aaronarandac4 Thanks for that info. I will check your videos for the OCD. What version do you have? V1.7, V2, etc...Thanks.
@@uptownphotography I believe it's a v1
Good video well explained
I've had a full stack one for a few years, real happy with it. With a couple of good musical pedals you can't go wrong.
