Tourist seasons have changed this state. So many vacation towns close up when august ends. It wasn't this way before vacation homes dominating the area. Some restaurants only open 2 days.. only chain restaurants open ,7 days

I live in Massachusetts. I know it's not the same, but it's not so far off. I'm thinking of moving to Maine. I'm fine with cold weather and snow. I think the keys to getting through winter are 1) having a circle of friends or community that you see regularly, rain snow or shine, and 2) embracing the cold and getting outside, every day if possible, with appropriate non-cotton clothing and microspikes or snowshoes or whatever it takes. You have to get out there, breathe in that fresh cold air, and enjoy the natural light, even if it's filtering through clouds.

They say that Maine is a rural state! I thought places down south were rural such as, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Texas, or even Mississippi!! Not an extremely far left liberal state!

I have a good friend who has lived in Maine for over 20 years. And have visited it a handful of times. Two things I have learn that is not mentioned in the video and two that was. First the two that were mentioned is the cost of living in Maine, that holds especially true if you live near the coast, is the cost of living is high. Property taxes are very high. Think twice about retiring there. Along the coastal routes, yes as mentioned is bad during the tourist seasons. Ok, what was not covered in the video. #1 The health care is Maine is bad, very bad. #2 Insects- due to climate change TICKS have become a huge problem in New England. Use insect repellant and check yourself after walking through woodland areas. I have read reports ticks are so bad they have been found infest large animals (deer/moose) to the point they impact their health. And there are black flies and/or mosquitoes to deal with depending where you are in the interior part of the state.

How about all the realtors from Massachusetts stop buying housing if their only plan is to be a slumlord... Rent was always affordable when I was younger but recently housing prices have skyrocketed out of control. I live way up North where there are not many opportunities and people are struggling just to live.

I think what it comes down to is if you can bare the snow and cold and animals and bugs NH is the best place to live.

There’s a lot of Masshole transplants in the south and at the seacoast so be ready to live next to terrible neighbors.

WE NEED HELP IN NH I live in a mobile Home park in Danville NH And a pack of assholes in NY bought it I used to pay $175 a month park rent and now its $740 we are all mostly on fixed incomes and now its up for sale Again for 18 MILLION WE can pay no more !! we need HELP!!! is there any lawyers out here That can tell us how to Deal with this MY Plan is to have a 147 of us to put for sales signs up and STOP paying park rent !!
