Rising Storm 2: Vietnam - Bits and Bobs
Переглядів 626 років тому
Took some old game play recordings that were in storage, and decided to take the best/mildly interesting parts from them. I had some fun flipping through the couple hours of footage, and slapping it all together for a short video. I don't do this kind of stuff very often, but I may have more content on the way for old times sake.

1stLC in attendance of 15e's Saturday Line Battle. March 3rd 2018 1stLC's role as line infantry this event. I never recorded my mic, due to an annoying "white noise" that would occur during recording that I cannot seem to fix.

Opening a Community Armour Safe, possible bug as the drill is stuck in an infinite loop.
Why did the americans call the airforce guys tamali ?
Beginner Vietnamese soldiers speak ???It's even more wrong to say
Why do they call the napalm guys tomali ?
Because they’re spicy 🌶️
Game is so good right?
who the hell hired those vietnamese?
The guy who speaks on the radio was not even a Vietnamese I can tell you. I'm Vietnamese and my South African friend who has been in Vietnam for 2 months can pronounce better than this dude
NLF/PAVN or the ARVN one? I'm Vietnamese and actually found the ARVN voice lines decent, especially the 2nd one. The first ARVN one sounded a slight bit unnatural though
Bruh the Vietnamese sounds like someone who doesn't know Vietnamese reading off an script, while the American one sounds so confident and full of emotions
Did you know that most people in Vietnamese army and partisans haven't combat experience? And a lot of American officers and commanders was fighting in Korean war?
@@user-yb2jw1ld9k not a lot of people here in Vietnam talk awkwardly like that that what I was trying to say
Also, the Vietnamese had been fighting the French and Japanese since the 40s.
@@user-yb2jw1ld9k he said about the voices not combat experience 💀
@@vietnamese_bot combat experience truly affects your voice or how you act in battle or even in common life
Im vietnamese And thats fucking third generation american Vietnamese Accent
Huh? ARVN sounds pretty accurate
@@axlem4549 no vietnamese talk like that, well except the one that was born in the US around 1990s-present because they probably learn Vietnamese from their grandparents or something
4:57
I have like a wierd memory in the back of my head that if you play as ARVN in campaign mode during the mid-war before the US leaves, you get the US version of Napalm and the ARVN commander will speak in English and give the fire mission to Tamale
Aw skeet skeet skeet
please, hire better voice actor for vietnamese....
Game sucks after 2020 Best era of this game 2017-2018
Why?
Ur just trash
Why?
I'm still playing, it's just as good as it was!
Rice still not safe
I hate how the NVA HQ voice sounds like someone who haven't spoken a word for 1 decade while ARVN HQ voice has no speaking problems.
Dislike for no sultitles in video
Yuuuuuuuuuuh
ANZAC best
I was waiting for this compilation after first time I played as squad commander. Thank you, autor.
Uh... Something wrong 'cause Vietnamese doesn't call "Alpha-Charlie" for "AC". We just pronunce the A as Apple and C as Seminar
That's an interesting insight. I think the commander you're referring to, if I'm not mistaken, is the South Vietnamese XO. I believe the reason he uses 'Alpha, Charlie' is due to the South Vietnamese allied militaries collaboration. United States, Australia, and south Korean forces, among others, would have to all be on the same level using standardized maps for grid references. That was the only way the coalition could operate with one another, and that's probably why the Southern Vietnamese commander uses those references. Especially if he's radioing in for support from an allied position.
The NLF/PAVN is a total different one The voice are perfect but NLF suppose to be the southern voices not the north but it includes PAVN so I will make this as an exception
I need a subtitle for us army 😁
I don't understand even I'm Vietnamese
I only understand the ARVN lines
The Vietnamese voice acting make me want to shoot myself
Jokes on you they killed the further development of the game so no more factions will ever be added
So I've been played. :(
Omg i miss this game i playit 2018
Would have been cool if the grid numbers in the voice line were relevant to the actual position called in. Also unrelated but for the South Vietnamese forces, there's voice lines for canceling AC-47 and Napalm strikes as well.
Sadly that’s rarely possible, the games grid system isn’t even a proper military grid system as the grid squares vary in size.
The voice is like they are from Nghe An or Vinh or they had PTSD or american voice actors
fr
I cant believe i memorized all us/australian cmdr quotes
ARVN 3?
Is vietcong lmao
01:01 yaaaaaaaa!
im gay
That's unfortunate, anyway
charles, is that you?
THE DRILL ITS JAMED
NVA commander voice sounds like he has PTSD
The South Vietnamese seem to have a far lighter tone when they speak compared to the VC or NVA or is it just me?
Vietnamese has several different dialects, top three being Northern, Central, and Southern. Not only can pronunciation be different, also sentence structure and word choice. So no, it's not just you, they sound different because of the different dialects. :D
@@ZootiniusYea, I suspected that because in Italy we also have many different dialects, in fact pretty much every town and city has Its own dialect so I thought It could also apply to Vietnamese. Also, do dialects exist in Vietnam because of foreign colonization (for example by Thailand or Imperial China) or is it because they just wanted a particular dialect for their own geographic regione inside of Vietnam?
@@Max-lk6yi I am not the biggest expert as to why there are many dialects. Foreign influences can definitely be one of them as there are many Vietnamese words that are similar to Chinese (probably because of the hundreds if not thousands of years of history between the two) and also many "borrowed" words that come from French. Personally my take on it is because Vietnam has "inherited" many different kinds of people in the past. I think the farther away a language is spread from its source, the more likely it is to develop differently. For example, American English, UK English and Australian English are mostly the same on paper, but pronunciation, and word choice is very different from their British origin. To answer the last bit of your question, no I don't think people "wanted" a particular dialect, I think it just happened on its own naturally. Hope I made sense. ;)
@Lolz Mmilh yeah dude the country is very diverse so if you hear southerners say their countries name they pronounce it “yietnam” but the northerners say it “Vietnam.” I’m no teacher and want to make this quick so basically anything that’s pronounced y in the south, northerners would pronounce it with a z or v
@@kwerty9671 The southerners pronounce Vietnam as 'yieknam' to be precise.
WOW THIS IS EPICNESS
The voice actors aren't native vietnamese, they're either american or vietnamese-american. I'm vietnamese and don't understand much-.-
To be fair the ARVN voices sound better than the North Vietnamese......
Yea, Personally I think some of the NLF/PAVN voice lines are bad. Especially the guy at the other end of the radio. ARVN voice lines seem alright to me. I am Viet-Canadian born and raised, so my Vietnamese isn't the best though. Haha.
One of the voice actors is a native Middle Vietnamese, not saying he is good though.
Also the the elder voice from the pavn and nlf are so good.
@@andrewwilson5133 One of the ARVN voice actors in the game father was in the ARVN. So he got alot of info from him.
Wow what a great video, I like this.
Great event!
