    If she thinks Arizona is like that then I do believe she should visit because it is uch more than that. There isn't that much sand and as much farm land as where she lives.

    Why people are getting there? Is there a procedure that had to be done manually inside the bin?

    • @Farmher
      @Farmher 2 місяці тому

      The most common reasons to enter a grain bin are to monitor for signs of grain spoilage, remove clumps of spoiled grain stuck to the bins, or service equipment after blockages occur. Moisture causes the grain to clump together and form crusts, or "bridging," across the surface of the grain. This can be visually misleading since gaps can form between the bridge and the level of stagnant grain underneath. While you should NEVER walk on flowing grain (which is like quicksand!), walking across stagnant grain is a lot like walking in deep snow--you definitely can do it, but you shouldn't without proper safety equipment and a spotter. However, if a bridge forms beneath the surface and collapses under the weight of the worker walking across it, the force of that fall alone could injure them or cause them to become so submerged in the stagnant grain below that they cannot escape on their own.

      @@Farmher so an emergency case can be avoided with proper safety equipment? Rescue equipment wouldn't be needed then.

    I am 68 yrs old now, single woman and started with Kikos 4 years ago in east Texas. I had a severe accident 15 yrs ago because of poor work from a contractor, which caused traumatic brain injury so I could not go back to writing high tech training materials. I had my land by that time and decided to go ahead with my homesteading plans. Got into goats to clear the 7 acres of underbrush and found the Kiko breed. I'm a small business, but I have several neighbors who like goat meat, so I consider myself a resource and alternative for beef for those who are interested. I do the work myself and some days, it is just about too much, but I love those crazy goats! Much better than sitting at a desk with a computer. This spring I had 5 females with 9 kids, total. Not a bad start for a city girl turned rancher. Buy local and get to know where your food comes from. I understand her - I too am a survivor!

    Boy I wish all the women who wish they had horses because they read "Black Beauty" watched and listened to you. They imagine all horses are either Black Beauty or My Little pony! I LIKE REAL HORSES and have experienced weaning and separating foals from mares. The fantasy folks imagine you have mommas and babies being yanked apart and suffering and screaming! Those women need to 1: get a life and have a relationship with teen aged children, 2: if you love horses enough to give ACTUAL HORSE OWNERS ADVICE, go spend a few hours on a farm where a foal is separated from a mare. Make it a special adventure and LEARN SOMETHING. If that foal has a pal and is well fed mom is not missed. The mare is relieved of a pesty teen aged foal. Too much reading and not enough practical experience! That book was written when the author was seeing cruelty to horses daily in a BIG CITY. The left wing liberal author wanted to see cleaner streets and fewer flies because there wasn't enough quick cleanup of horse manure. Hhmm? If we convince all the little kids that cruelty to horses is a romantic story their little voices will influence their parent and grand parents(only men) who vote to stop horses being in the city. I love horses, real horsewomen and real rancHERS but I absolutely HATE that book and the way it has effected our lame brained, city born and raised society. It makes children think cows are abused too. I subscribed to your channel just to get the stench of that book and it's influence from my country child nostrils. Bless your efforts and hope to see more videos.
