Yep, good old Spookyville. Nice to visit but wouldn't want to live there. I remember it being horrible back in the 80s. It's always had a big crime issue 😢 And many people from there have always been in denial because the demographics of that city don't fit their neat little box of where crime is supposed to happen. And another thing people won't admit is the incredible amount of racism in that region. If you can get past those things, as well as neighbors cooking up meth & tweakers who may rob you, then Spokane may be right for you.

I hate Wa State now. There's taxes on taxes for more taxes. I haven't gotten a raise in 5 years. Never had a job offer any retirement at all, and can't save a penny with the monopoly grocery stores The economy tanks every 8 to 10 years now, and it takes as long to recover. There's no saving for retirement when every penny is going to fuel, to get to work. All I do is work. I feel like a prisoner.

I’m also getting paid way more in Coeurd’Alene. There’s more houses available in Spokane because no one wants to live there lol and property tax is wayyyyyy more in WA ! I’ve owned in both places and I’m running back to Idaho ! You have to pay for parking, bags and everything more in WA. The hospitals in Spokane are disgusting, try going to Sacred Heart for an emergency..horrible. Kootenai hospital is wonderful and clean and has the best care available.

This is my issue with the housing market. it is a simple issue where avg working person can afford a home or an apartment. I am concerned Spokane is getting too expensive . I expect homes to be around 325,000 to lower 380,000 for a nice home but I am seeing homes that are garbage for sale in 300,000 to 400,000 that need serious remodeling. Most locals in Spokane make under 125,000 unless they are a doctor or a lawyer. this is where I think locals are being priced out of Spokane. I moved to southern Indiana instead of moving back home to Spokane because of the housing market. I can buy a home for 250,000 to 350,000 in southern Indiana. one of my friends on south hill in Spokane bought her house for 70,000 in 2003 now her home is 250,000 for under 900 sq feet, that is crazy!

You forgot to mention that Spokane has all the crime/crap of Seattle w/small town Drama. The worst of each kind of town 😂

We lived in Irving Texas the last 4 years. Spokane really needs to widen most major streets to 3 lanes in both directions. Some of the Washington state highways and roads are just really too old for the higher population growth. I miss the good old days where airway heights were just dirt and gravel roads. What I want to know is if Spokane is growing where are the jobs for people that are not nurses. doctors or teachers because most people are just avg joes just making a living? My husband got his job with the Molina healthcare administration office in Spokane but Molina is now remote working from home. for most Spokane people jobs were always a major issue. we had to leave Spokane for a better position with Molina.

We have been watching Haydn’s videos for a couple months, met him on Zoom, and then headed there for a discovery trip over Thanksgiving, 2024. First, Spokane is GREAT! We loved it! We didn’t get to see the beauty of Manito Park and Riverside Park because it’s late fall and the lushness of the area is down for the winter. But we did watch the Christmas tree lighting and the skaters on the ice-skating ribbon. There are tons of great restaurants and lots to do. We love city life and would like to live close to downtown because we think belonging to the Spokane Club would provide a central hub for making friends and athletic activity. Second, Haydn is awesome. I wouldn’t use any other realtor if we move there. He’s extremely knowledgeable and an excellent resource. although he was out of town over the Thanksgiving Weekend, he kept in contact with us while we were there, telling us exactly the right streets and neighborhoods to drive through. If we had relied on Zillow or Redfin, we would not have found the right neighborhood. We decided to hold off our move until next summer when things settle down with some turmoil our respective jobs. We will visit again during the summer too. Everywhere we went people were super friendly. We think it’s a dandy, small city!

If this wooded area has a lot of subdivisions and houses built on it then it will have plenty of air and water pollution.

Hello Haydn, This area recently voted the strongest support for Lisa Brown and associated libtardisms. Why this area is even part of Spokane is beyond me. They are an isolated, idyllic area free of all the fentanyl related homeless issues and crime. It's really just a commuter community with nothing in common with the regular people of Spokane. It's said that a lot of the folks that live here were Gonzaga graduates that left Spokane, made some money, but now want to live in their little antiseptic suburb. They are completely isolated from the reality of living in Spokane proper, in my opinion they should be their own community.
