When you close the holes in the rims you have to drill some holes on the outside of the tires otherwise the air pressure can't get out after a jump or when the tire is ballooning. It is a good idea to cover the holes in the rims, I also do it actually. But I also drill some holes in my tires to let the water out and the air pressure
