@ also one of the other mods I did was move the droid up. All I did was add a single grey 2x4 plate and that made the head of the droid more visible without being too big for the legs to fit in the cockpits surrounding it

I 100% feel the exact same way. I don’t get sent any sets by Lego. I pay out-of-pocket usually as soon as it comes out, so I feel the full cost of everything just to do a review.

How long did you make the cannons? And how did swapping the place on the bottom affect it stability on the lower end?

@@VenturesBrickhouseit didn’t affect the stability. I did it as well but I probably used slightly different pieces. As for the wings, I added a black lightsaber hilt piece and another black staff piece onto the already existing set’s cannons which made it better

The stickers on the cockpit are a huge pain point for me, and I hope they find a way to solve this in the future. I’ve seen some people do that exact modification to the canon and it does look a lot better. The wing and engine sizes feel good to me.

Fixing the cannons is super easy. Take those stupid spring missles out and you can make larger guns.

@@dannydevito5312 yeah I agree but they should have been done right in the set. I was even looking at it next to my Jedi Bob Starfighter and it has side canons longer than the arc 170. It's a bit absurd

2010 is an absolute classic! Don’t discount this one so heavily though. It really is quite a nice build

@VenturesBrickhouse 50$ would have made it a fantastic value. But lego has done this many times before, overpricing sets. The z 95 headhunter was a great example a good decade ago.

$50 would be a fantastic price! There’s so many examples of overpriced sets. Most of the time they go on a sale that makes it feel better

@ i feel like it's one of the biggest gripes i've seen. that and the spring-loaded shooters on the wings that look out of place. overall it's a great set, not worth $70 but without the price it just shows how much lego's improved

Spring loaded shooters nearly always look out of place. That doesn’t negate them from. Criticism though. I’m just curious how they could better integrate them better into wings of a ship like this. $70 is a lot of money and one of LEGO’s biggest challenges over this year is making sure they find a way to make people feel like they get their money’s worth out of their products.

I don’t think it’s really that bad. The red bar should be on top yes, but the shape (the nose) of it is more accurate than previous models. There are definitely a decent amount of inaccuracies to the cannon ship. I’m more worried about the issues the ship has with proportions or accuracy to advertisement than accuracy to the cannon ship.

What do you think makes it a mid build? I think it’s a good build with issues. Figures are great, I 100% agree with you there.

@VenturesBrickhouse oh for sure but that's what I'd think it should be 😂 I bet the licensing for star wars is hella expensive. Now that I look at the piece count yeah I can see 50 to 60. But they also brought the speed champions up a good bit after doing nothing to them.

Overpriced is very subjective. Plus LEGO always starts high and then they reduce the price at any major retailer. Dual molded legs, at least to me are a feature that should be reserved for high end sets like 18+ sets or on a figure where it would look wrong without. That’s just my opinion though

@ we get dual molded legs pretty commonly in other lines for $20 and under sets but only get them on select Star Wars characters. As for over priced there’s no argument it is over priced and that is a fact. Look at legos direct competitors Mega & Funwhole both can put out a set with more pieces, more figures, NO stickers and Over 100 printed parts for a whopping $35… and in funwholes case also adding electronic lights. While Lego is still out here stickers, and skimping out on prints for both parts & figures and trying to get away with charging double.

That is true. LEGO has odd practices when it comes to what themes get what things. I would 1000% love it if I never saw a sticker sheet from Lego again. In my videos I always either advocate for more printed parts or better color matching on their stickers. I’d love it if the sets that made sense got more minifigs. We agree on some of these issues

I can somewhat agree with this. I feel like each variation has/had something better than the other. With improvements over the years. Granted this one has some pretty obvious issues that could have been easily avoided if LEGO just put in more effort.

I don’t believe in bashing another creator in anyway. I personally really like this set. If you watched my full videos. I actually disagree with some of the complaints about this set. I also like helmet holes on clones. I think it helps it be more of a kids toy. I advocate for more play scale sets. I hope you give my content a shot even if it’s only to see and hear my real opinions

I agree with you. There are definitely some issues with this set for sure, but the size of the set isn’t really an issue to me. I remember when I first built the 2010 variant and I thought this seems too big.

Well what might be perfect for you may not be for others. If you look up the proportions of the ARC 170 in universe you’d see the wings and cannons are not the right size. Stickers are also be false advertised on the box. Minifigs are great and I got no problem with it being smaller but the small little inaccuracies add up.

It’s definitely smaller than the previous versions. I personally think the size of this modern ship works really well, but there are some issues with the ship as well.

I think the Toxicity is getting kind of bad lately. My goal is to always try and find some positives in each set. I appreciate that you do the same. This set isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty darn good.

It is getting bad for sure. I don’t think I’ve seen any toxicity in my comment section on a particular set, which is pretty great to see.

⁠@@michellec6336That’s a great question! I highly recommend getting set number #75325 the Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter. It’s a great build, but there’s nothing too complicated within it so it’s great for teenagers. As far as keeping track of small parts while building it having a table to build on with some sort of like cloth or I find a bath towel across the table helps me keep track of parts. Keeping track of small parts post build I recommend having a designated bin for any spare parts as well as having a designated spot like a shelf to display their LEGO helps keep track of the set.
