Paranormal Activity at the Ganz House - Sharon Springs, NY
On October 8, 2023, Orange County Paranormal visited the Ganz House, a former 3 ½ story boarding house (the future museum for the Sharon Historical Society). Built in the late 1900s, the Ganz House suffered a serious fire in 1926 and had to be rebuilt. Is it haunted today?
Ghost hunting is the investigation of locations that are reportedly haunted by ghosts. The Orange County Paranormal ghost-hunting team spent six hours collecting evidence supporting the existence of paranormal activity in the former boarding house. Cameras and sound recording devices were positioned throughout the house to capture visual proof of a ghost-like presence. Was that a slight breeze at the back of your neck, or did a spirit let you know they were present?
Join us for a spine-chilling evening of Paranormal Activity as Lead Investigator Dan Pacella reveals for the first time what (or who) is lurking at the historic Ganz House in Sharon Springs, NY. Are you brave enough to explore the supernatural with us? Get ready to experience the unknown as we delve into the mysteries of the location of the Sharon Historical Society’s future museum. Prepare to be amazed and terrified as we uncover the secrets that lie within the walls of the Ganz House. Don't miss out on this thrilling event!

All of these things led to the demise of the spa. However, in...

Schoharie County’s oldest building, the Palatine House (a. k. a. the Old Lutheran Parsonage), will be two hundred and eighty years old this year. By the year 1742, the German Lutherans in the Schoharie Valley were well enough established, and prosperous enough, to build a church and to put in a call for a Lutheran pastor, ordained in Germany, to minister to the community. Peter Nicholas Sommer,...

Big Trees and Old Forest In New York State
Переглядів 1,1 тис.2 роки тому
From the time of European settlement in North America until the middle of the 19th century, forests had been viewed primarily by the settlers as an obstacle to civilization; they were something to be cleared out of the way for agriculture or to be unsustainably cut and exploited for profit. By the 1880s, less than 25% of New York State remained forested. Together we will explore trees and fores...
The Many Fires of Sharon Springs

The sheer number of fires in the Village of Sharon Springs is disconcerting to people who have lived here for years and witnessed not only the destruction and financial losses, but the vanishing architecture as well. Visitors come here and see the vacant lots where historic buildings once stood and question, “What happened to Sharon Springs?” Some buildings were massive and took up an entire bl...

Perhaps the most famous statue in the modern world, the Statue of Liberty has stood tall in the middle of New York Harbor since 1886, serving as a beacon of hope and freedom.
