I am seeing a slow decline in Hermitcraft. Player dynamics are taking over from building. Season 8 was the most blatant about it, but it's turning into more amateur playacting than it is about playing Minecraft. I got my start with Mumbo's redstone videos around the end of season 4. I binged the season and caught up a few weeks into season 5. It was fantastic, seeing the redstone, seeing the building ideas. I started watching other hermits, some I liked and many I didn't, and this build was interesting, that build was interesting. But these days...there's no building. There's just...boop here's what I built off camera. Here's how it fits into the lore of this build. Here's the story I'm telling. Now let's join up with Hermit X for the ongoing narrative where we take a beautiful mountain forest and blow a giant hole in it. The redstoners in particular have taken to linking to tutorials instead of actually describing what they're doing and how it works. At the same time, a lot of the hermits with the biggest subscriber counts are slowing down, getting quiet. Nothing of the world lasts forever. I'm not sure when Hermitcraft's time will come, but I'd be surprised if it lasts to twenty seasons.

I think theses an update that could save MineCraft and which is The end update People have been asking for it for a long time and if Minecraft listens and did what the did with the nether revamp the end then maybe they could get a lot of people back

With the few wars caused (grain)everyone knew it was light hearted fun and not that deep. They wouldn’t go destroying the whole sever just because of it And something else that makes hermitcraft different from other smps is that it family friendly because like the dsmp badboyhalo would try to get people to stop cussing but failed meanwhile hermitcraft I can’t remember anyone dropping an f Bomb. Everyone on hermitcraft are also close and in the eps the hermits would normally chill with the other hermits without an aurgment

I think another reason for the success is that they are season based so they are consistently doing new things so that it doesn't get boring. There has also been a lot more turnover in their history than the video suggests, you can find a Hermitcraft history video on UA-cam, it gives the scope of who has played and in what seasons and the reasons they left and the speculations if no reason was given.

The hermitcraft starting section is wrong. Season 1 had a lot more members than you said, and was started by Generikb, who was actually rejected seasons later after asking to join again.

Dude the amount of SMP "APPLICATIONS OPEN" videos thinking they will be the next big thing is crazy. SMP's aren't like that guys, I get its trying to add a twist but it isn't like that. It has to be natural.

Hermitcraft is amazing. I only currently watch Grian and Mumbo but there was a point where I was watching Tango Gem and Scar and Joel too.

I think the reason I love Hermitcraft so much is that its just a bunch of friends playing Minecraft together, no insane roleplay, no bad blood, (almost) no drama, and the drama that does happen in the server isn't taken overly seriously.
