This is a general description on how to work a 2 umpire system in the MSHSL. We use NCAA mechanics for our 2 umpire games. The video was made in 2016. An updated mechanic in the 2024 season is that the plate umpire would cover 3rd on a triple with no runners on. This keeps the base umpire from having to chase a runner from behind in that situation.
