Nice yacht…for as long as she lasted. Maybe you shouldn’t have pissed her off by littering the waterways that she was meant to motor through with all those small strips of colored paper. I recommend launching at night, with the use of much better looking FIREWORKS instead. They’re also far less polluting than all that paper you flung up into the air…because typically, whatever goes up is going to come back down. Besides using fireworks, I would also recommend that you install a much more robust fire fighting sprinkler system in the overhead of all those spaces that are located outside the confines of the engine room. And within the engine room, you should have a very robust, high concentration of HALON that’s ready to be disbursed at the first sign of a fire, with appropriate breathing apparatus available throughout the engine room for anyone who might find themselves getting caught in a space that has a high concentration of HALON being released. Additionally, I recommend a secondary backup system that uses AFFF (fire fighting foam) to smother any remaining fire after the HALON has been released if fire is still evident. AFFF should also be readily available in any space where there’s a considerable amount of highly combustible materials to stop that fire from spreading as quickly as possible. Sadly, for as much as these super yachts costs, their fire fighting capabilities are almost always inadequate, if not downright laughable. All too often the simplest of fire fighting methods are ignored by these yacht builders…such as securing all the ventilation to effected spaces before CO2 and/or HALON is released, making the release highly ineffective. And then the bottles containing the gases are vastly undersized to actually extinguish a fuel oil fed fire before such a fire can burn its way to the exterior of the affected space, opening the space back up to oxygen again. I get that these gases are deadly to humans, so it’s imperative that breathing apparatus are readily accessible throughout the entire interior of the engine and machinery spaces. I’ve yet to see such a device pre-staged in a single engine room on any yacht yet.
