Bloody hell mate, you've got a project and a half on your hands. That dash surprised me, never realised a Mk5 Astra dash would fit in there. Going to be a challenge getting the heater controls etc. to work. Same with the wiring loom in the engine bay and throughout the car. Look forward to updates and good luck getting it sorted!

We got caught in the traffic for hours but if you got there early enough you'd not have to park on mud.

Shame about the spectator arrival organisation it was ridiculous, queued for over 2hrs because there was next to no traffic marshalling, to then be parked in a boggy field not even fit for cattle where people were getting stuck left right and centre, good show just not the right venue and poor planning on petrolheadanism' part

its survived 42 year and for a French car from 82 its quite solid , if you have the time and money restore it she deserves a bit of love, my grandmothers " Boyfriend" had one of these e was a travelling rep for Rothmans it was a top spec model with leccy windows and a Auto gearbox, it impressed me as a little Lad who's Dad drove a dull Triumph Toledo it seemed quite exotic to me, it was a metallic Burgundy colour with a beige interior.

I just sold my first car (Volvo S60 2002 with a blue exterior and black leather interior) it had over 201k on it

As much as i like to see the solara being saved i know that it doesn´t make any sense. It would be a project probably for years as rotten as it is. Just break it up and keep/sell the good parts.

It's easy for me to say, but I think it should be saved; these are so rare, especially in this trim spec. Lovely colours too. I just found your channel and was thrilled to find someone working on these Talbots.

It'll be a bit of a major project - hopefully someone will take it on, and do it right - can't be many of those left.

Put it out of it's misery and send it to the scrappy

Do you not have any scrap yards round your way? They will come get it for free, you might even get a few quid.

Unfortunately Sam, I'd say, engine out, strip it and try flog the parts and scrap it, nobody probably want to save it, is it worth saving?
