He was always a great performer. I get the impression that if you got him on a good day when he was in a good mood and completely sober, he was a real great guy. But on the other hand, if you got him on a day when he was drunk or in a pissed-off mood, or both, he could be quite a jerk.

Wow. I had forgotten what a poor interviewer Don Imus was. Jeeez... Such a squandered interview opportunity.

Jerry Lee Lewis really captured the rebellious spirit of Rock N Roll. Was he the King, the father, the architect, who knows? All I know is he played a very important role in rock history and captured an attitude of the music like no one else could. There are so many people out there who have bashed him and talked poorly of him. They've focused on nothing but the negative. The scandals. Jerry Lee certainly wasn't perfect, but there seems to be a lot more to the story than people realize. When you have context, it becomes clear. Regardless of his past, this man is a musical genius!

In the very early years at the beginning, when Jerry Lee performed, it was just him, a bass player and a drummer. Incredible sound for a 3 man ensamble. It is really something special to hear and watch.

Imus should have mentioned Little Richard as one of the architects too.. Little Richard started that wild piano behavior...boot on the keys, jumping around while playing. Dunno if he stood on the piano also. Prolly did.

I know Elvis is considered the King of Rock n Roll but I put Jerry Lee Lewis on an equal level . That first Steve Allan performance of "Whole Lot of Shakin Goin' On" was a real door buster. That must of been something to witness first hand as it happened. Even today I watch that with a big grin and Im amazed. Thanks Jerry Lee. Rest in peace Killer.🎹

I was back stage in Oklahoma City at a big country festival and Willie Hank jr with a lot more and Jerry Lee. Everyone else went to Willie’s trailer and talked and smoked but not Jerry Lee, he stayed alone in his. They gave Jerry a summons on stage and later he made a paper plane and sailed it out into the audience lol. And they let some old gal go in his trailer.

Never ceases to amaze me there 's so many "critics" here that must turn it into a competition. In the interview Jerry Lee admits Elvis was at Sun before he was. Those of you who pit Elvis against Jerry Lee do all you Elvis fans just listen to Elvis ? And do all you Lewis fans just listen to Jerry Lee ?? Or are you open minded & listen to all of these artists ? Because I do I like all these artists Bill Haley kicked it off in 1953 & '54 & '55 he owned the first 3 years until Elvis in 1956 the first wave & Jerry Lee in 1957 he was one of the 2nd wave performers.
