Drilling out a stripped screw from eyeglasses
Переглядів 228Місяць тому
We do a lot of repairs for eyeglasses at McCray. When the screw head on a temple screw is stripped, the most common method to extract it is to drill it out. But drilling through the screw isn't quite as common so we thought we'd share! I hope the end is a little unexpected for viewers For more information on our services, please visit www.mccrayoptical.com

Thanks Albert!
You're the OG!!
Fingers crossed for a spring hinge replacement tutorial! 🤞
very good to know . thank you
Hey Al buddy, how are you?
Thanks for this!
I just used the smallest flathead screwdriver in a cheap mini screwdriver set like they used the tool in this video. Worked like a charm.
Where to buy tool
Thank you for the tip. Works perfectly!
I used a thick paper clip as a pin.😊 Thanks again for the tip.
Push pin from the bottom up ,aligning the 2 barrels. Screw will drop rite in .
its a hemastat of sorts.. or if your from the 60's a roach clip
Thank you for the video! I had to improvise and use a paper clip for the hinge tool, piece of paper clip for a pin and soda can tab as a lock for my tweezers. 😊
Can they be cut using sewing shears or sheet metal snips?
yes, you can use regular scissors
This is awesome!🤓😎🍻👍🏽
I'm in the position of needing some acetate frames adjusted because I ordered them online and-surprise-the bridge is much too small. This was a super cool, detailed, and informative video about a process that I didn't even know existed! Thanks for the effort you put into making this :)
Great video very informative…. Now the big question? Where can I purchase this kit?
Pls send me product catelog
"IF THERE IS SPACE" that will help, but I was not lucky ... mine was a smooth curve that was basically flush with the leg/temple and nothing would fit inside... used a piece of 1mm wire to press on the hinge with a small pair of vice-grips after pulling it out... thing was a major pain :-(
Thank you
What are the name of those tools u used
Saved me so much headache. I used sim removal tool as pin to keep the hinge stuck out and it worked perfectly. Thanks
U talking about the little tool that comes with phones

Có bán kẹp này không?
Not everyone has all these fancy tools to work with. I'd rather watch videos where the person is like Mcgyver who can fix everything with a tampon and a pocket knife!
Im wondering what kind of tools they are
Who is this for? You know they sale flip up sunglasses that fit that style of frame. I just got a pair and I'm happy.
Wonderful discription
Nice trick it's useful but instead of the tool you can use needle. I just tried it and it works.
needle is much more difficult to use as it could just slip off easily
Excellent
Useless for the people who can't get the tools
Thanks man!
What
Where can I buy the flip up metal piece and the rest of the kit, thanks.

USELESS if you are not telling people where they can get the tool
You made that look way too easy sir.
Very well explained Your a great teacher!!! Can you send me a link to those scissors??
Do you know where to buy the lenses and the clipper?
@@irenedang7720 Hello Irene, I can share with you something I learned ..Measure your frames with a metric ruler Lense width ,height, and frame width across.Go to Zenni.com search glasses by size .Find your glasses/ semi look a like frames get the frame model number Then search up clip on finder at Zenni and put the model number that you found on Zenni that matched the closest WhahLah you got pretty close looking clip ons to your exsisting frames !!
The tool is the key. what is it called please?
Looks great, but what is the tool / bit called please?
A dremel
@@HaploBartow thanks!

Olá,sou do Brasil.onde encontro essa ferramenta de cravar o suporte de plaqueta?

If it's not broken, why are you removing the template? If it's broken, how do you get the spring to extend out to get the tool in?
